Finnally, Gaddafi killed like a rat, what he called the Libyans he once scorned.

Gaddafi killed in hometown, Libya eyes future

By Rania El Gamal and Tim Gaynor
    SIRTE, Libya | Thu Oct 20, 2011 2:18pm EDT
(Reuters) - Muammar Gaddafi was killed by Libyans he once scorned as "rats," succumbing to wounds, some seemingly inflicted after his capture by fighters who overran his last redoubt on Thursday in his hometown of Sirte.

Two months after Western-backed rebels ended 42 years of eccentric, often bloody, one-man rule by capturing the capital Tripoli, his death and the fall of the final bastion ended a nervous hiatus for the new interim government, which is now set to declare formal "liberation" with a timetable for elections.

The killing or capture of senior aides, including possibly two sons, as an armored convoy braved NATO air strikes in a desperate bid to break out of Sirte, may ease fears of diehards regrouping elsewhere - though cellphone video apparently of Gaddafi alive and being beaten may inflame his sympathizers.

A Libyan official said Gaddafi, 69, was killed in custody.

With Gadhafi gone, resuscitating Libya begins
20 Oct.`11 - Even as Libyans rejoiced in the streets Thursday at news of the death of fallen dictator Moammar Gadhafi, experts warned that much work awaits the oil-rich African nation's new leaders.

personally i like the guy why? he stood by what he said in the news that he would not leave and fight to the end, most others would of scated out of the country and hid in a rich home in africa or in a arab sheeks manson, he had a alfa male macho stance to the usa and other countrys that where much more powerfull then his , hillary wanted him dead and that alone should raise a red flag in your mind , alex jones like him also why he stands against the globalist and the one world order ,a rebal independent counrty run by a alpha male ex military ledaer that scares the new world order they would like a lawyer like obama and corporational leader ceos to run a country they are much easier to control and to bribe , gaddifi had lots of gold and could not be bought out by the globalist so he had to be snuffed out by the un and hillary.

    Thanks, Obama!

Easy. The US has NO CONTROL OVER LIBYA. It's a free range terrorist/islamist nightmare with no rules.

    Thanks, Obama!

Yeah... he died like a rat all right.

They pulled him out of a sewer tunnel, beat the (*)(*)(*)(*) out of him, then shot him in custody.

Nobody cares... but... that isn't supposed to be how it works. Way to usher in a new regime based on lawfulness. Now let's watch as the tribes all magically come together holding hands to democratically elect a new government of an oil rich country.

Isn't it just great to carpet blanket one person with every little thing you disagree with, as if there is an all-powerful force in control of everything while you are a poor blind rat with an opinion?

In a way I agree with you, but this is a war to these people, and that dude wouldn't have hesitated to exterminate all of them if things would have worked out different.

Never mind that he killed so many of his own people, anyone who dared to form a political party, and punished (up to 3 years in jail) anyone for just talking about politics.

He quickly abolished the Libyan Constitution along with civil liberties - he was a real gem.

Considering he had a bunch of bodyguards, this is no heroic deed - he was found hiding in a sewer - that ought to tell you how brave he really was.

Lots of people, including Republicans wanted him dead - don't know why Hillary's desire would raise a red flag. Maybe Republicans considered him a friend?

I figured the Republicans/conservatives would have to find some way to criticize however this thing turned out - and I was right, only they are making fools of themselves with their contradicting positions.

I'm sure that's not a compliment, but for those who are able to accept the truth, it really is.

Thanks Obama - we didn't have to lose 4000+ soldiers and spend trillions of dollars getting rid of a dictator. That your Republican predecessor could have done something similar in Iraq - oh well, he wasn't that smart.

Good post.. No 10 year engagement, no 4000 dead and 30,000 maimed.. not trillion dollars wasted.

One more thing for the righties to try and find fault with. Unfortunately, they've contradicted themselves so much on this issue, they really didn't know which side to be on when they didn't know what the outcome would be, so they jumped from side to side. So typically Republican.
