So then I would turn around and ask you Jeff, why you don't believe Cummings when he says this:

If you read the entire excerpt here, it's clear IN CONTEXT that he is regretting trusting that "gay isn't the same as sick". He's saying "I supported gay people coming off the DSM, and part of the deal was that the APA was to stick to science". Clearly he even then was anticipating some sort of funny business, or experiencing some undue duress in arriving at the removal of gays from the DSM. The OP's excerpt describes where the source of that would be: the replacement of key ranking figures in the APA's governance by an elite group of gay activists... So it isn't impossible to conceive that then, as now, if a member of the APA, even a president, doesn't "get on board with the gay agenda", they face banishment.

Read the whole excerpt, see if you can't spot his regretting his decision between the lines. Then read the OP to see if you can discover why Cummings may have "had to have his opinion" on removing gays from the DSM instead of merely having it authentically.

 

No matter what he says about "politics ruling science at the APA", we've already established he doesn't think homosexuality IS a mental disorder. It wouldn't make sense for him to criticise them for allowing politics to trump science then do so himself. You have some mightily twisted logic as usual.

 

I am very aware of how the American Psychiatric Association has been taken over by homosexuals. I am also aware of how in 1974 homosexuality was no longer defined as a mental disorder. I learned about this from Doctor Umar Johnson who is a PhD in clinical psychology who is also a nationally certified school psychologist.

 

I don't know how anyone in their right mind could see it as a mental disorder to be honest. And if it were, how lovely that Islamic countries sentence mentally ill people to death.

 

Well the strawman of putting homosexuals to death is a nice diversion but the topic is how the APA was taken over. Not "we should kill homosexuals because they took over the APA".

The solution is to replace the APA with another cluster of professionals and get insurers etc and officials to recognize their imput. You'd do that by publicly laying out the progression of how the APA was taken over, is political and not scientific anymore and how that is a danger to patients.
