Another post with no argument .. and strawman fallacy and oblivion to what is being discussed. Of course Biden made a case against the Pipeline .. from the time of Obama to present.. and what part of "Really bad Economic Decision" did you forget -- ...as if that fact just went poof .. into the cancel box.

Followed with raging fallacious nonsense .. that somehow because you did some work in relation to some pollution ... this makes Bidens "not in my back yard - dump it in the Ocean" Environmental policy Not a disaster ?

how is that logical ? How is that not "non sequitur" fallacy B does not follow from A

OK .. take aways .. The Keystone was a ridiculously bad economic decision .. and a horrific Environmental decision .. and yes .. since you asked .. feel free to ask me any Environmental Questions .. being a Subject Matter Expert .. spending over a decade working for the 3rd largest engineering firm in the world trying to save the world ..

"I don't want toxic waste discharged into our rivers, and hence to the ocean" Yes mate .. You do .. as that is Biden's Environmental Policy .. what part of "Not in my back Yard --- Dump it in the Ocean" did you not hear ?

Getting Crude Shipped into our refineries from "Nigeria" by Tanker vs "Canada by Pipeline" .. is ridiculously bad for the Environment .. transferring out pollution problems to 3rd world nations -- in violation of the New Green Deal "Thou shalt not transport pollution problems to non industrialized populations" that pollute the hell out our Oceans .. with all kinds Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) and other goodies.

Hard core environmental disaster .. not only increasing Ocean Pollution .. but CO2 as well .. big time. .. What a great Policy aye Mr. Self Proclaimed Environmental Expert .. Lets increase CO2 concurrent with Ocean Pollution .. This is looking to be another necessary illusion bubble popper

It was a political decision, not an economic one. There is no economic case against the pipeline when it was financed privately.
It was your claim I didn't care. I pointed out I do. I have taken no position on Biden Administration policy.
No, it was a political decision that happened to be a bad economic decision.
Biden is the lesser evil. I said so before and after the 2020 election.
You forgot to mention some of the oil from Alberta will be sent by pipeline to Vancouver and then by tanker to somewhere else.

No kidding it was a Political decision .. which turned out to be a bad economic decision -- which is exactly what I told you .. so why are you now pretending that it was you who came up with the idea .. instead of your actual position which was crying "no no no"

In addition to being a horrible economic decision, it was a horrible environmental decision .. born out of horrible Environmental Policy .. the Trans-Mountain Line having absolutely zero to do with the issue. What is this new nonsense you are spewing what does the Trans Mountain line have to do with the fact that not building the Keystone was a horrible environmental policy -- "Not in my back Yard - Dump it in the Ocean"

The Trans Mountain does the reverse Lang. You have everything backwards .. including Biden being the lesser of two evils in this example. Biden is a disaster - far bigger than Trump on both the Economic and Environmental Front.. and you have failed to come up with anything showing where Biden is better than Trump on the other side of the scale .. yet via some illogic figure that you have shown Biden to be the lesser evil.

I've been saying for years we should go ahead with Keystone. It became a cause célèbre for environmental activists. Biden promised he would kill Keystone on January 20. He did.
Wrong. If Keystone had gone ahead, Canada might not have expanded the Trans Mountain pipeline. More Alberta oil will be going down the expanded Trans Mountain in just days.
Nixing Keystone made sure Canada finished the Trans Mountain expansion, putting oil that would have gone down Keystone on the way out of Vancouver instead. The impact of blocking Keystone was worse than you imagine.
Both parties are bad for the economy, but Trump has much greater potential downside.
    Trump threatens democracy itself.

Holy Frack .. spare me this out of control nonsense. Who cares if Canada would or would not have built the Trans Mountain .. that has nothing to do with the Keystone being bad for the Economy .. and the Environment

Keystone Good for the Environment .. Trans Mountain .. Good for the Environment --- Not building either .. dumb and dumber .. Horribly Bad Environmental Policy .. What part of >>> Not in my back Yard .. Dump in the Ocean" .. not sinking in. .. the Nigeria example ?? No ? .. OK

Look .. Not building the Keystone did not change our oil consumption by one drop -- it merely changed where we get the oil .. since we did not get the "Clean Oil" from Canada .. that means we have to get it from somewhere else ... that somewhere being Dirty oil .. shipped by Dirty Tanker .. from a Nation who pollutes like crazy .. and the industrialization of which .. is why CO2 has gone from 22 Billion tons/yr to 36 Billion tons per/year over last 30 years.

So No Mr. "Wrong" in bold LOL you are the wrong one. Me the Subject Matter Expert .. did you forget so soon ?

then somehow you deduce from Biden's failure that Trump has a much greater potential downside .. once again .. completely unsupported claim .. just ridiculous.. followed by a second completely unsupported claim "Trump Threatens Democracy"

This is nonsense ... How is Trump a threat to "Democracy" .. What the F are you talking about .. do you know what democracy is .and what it isn't ? First off .. the assumed premise that we have a functional democratic process to begin with --- big mistake. That Trump is a threat to this process ..more-so than Biden ... absurd unsubstantiated nonsense.

"BIDEN" is a threat to our democratic process .. what's left of it -- you know there is no such thing as a functional democratic process without fair and free media .. and who is the threat to that .. Enter Cancel Culture. Blue is a huge threat to free speech at the moment .. quite sickening .. how is it that you did not notice ?

Can't take something away that one doesn't know they have .. Right !?

You claim to care about the environment.

Much of the oil that doesn't go down Keystone will transported via an expanded Trans Mountain pipeline, shipped out of Vancouver, through the Juan de Fuca Strait, past the Puget Sound, past the Washington Coast, and maybe down the coast past Oregon and California.
I supported both for environmental, economic and national security reasons.
    See above.
Not building Keystone may increase oil prices a little and reduce consumption slightly. (Demand for oil is not perfectly inelastic.)
You were flat wrong about the Trans Mountain pipeline not being important.
Jan6 and Trump's incompetence explains his greater downside.
I taught American history for decades.

This is obscene ? who cares about you teaching history .. you that has not helped you understand basic logic apparently.

Who said the Trans mountain was not important ? and so how am I wrong for not doing something that you are claiming I did. What a joke. It is you who did not have the faintest idea that the Keystone was good for the Environment and the US economy .. and that the Enviro Policy of your beloved Biden .. "not in my back yard - dump it in the Ocean" .. is a disgusting anathema to environmental stewardship.

So -- Biden failed economically -- and failed the planet .. with his Keystone idiocy. and that is just one example .. but we are comparing Trump with Biden .. do you some equivalent Trump failure .. oh .. once you figure out the Biden failure which you have yet to establish. but do feel free to give us the Trump failure that you think Trumps Biden's 1) economic fail .. and 2) his Environmental fail

after which we can move on to other areas of Biden fail ---

    You still don't get it.

Old Joe is contending with environmentalists who object to Canadian "tar sands" oil being piped to Gulf Coast refineries, some of it exported without refining and some exported as refined product. Not said: oil not going down Keystone will be shipped out of Vancouver, past our coasts, and we'll have oil shipped to our Gulf Coast refineries instead of coming down a less costly pipeline.

The "tar sands" oil will be produced and find its way to market. Environmentalists' strategy of killing Keystone results in oil being shipped to our Gulf Coast refineries and oil shipped along our West Coast.
I'm beginning to wonder if you're capable of assimilating that I've been in favor of Keystone all along.
My "beloved Biden," you say? Egads. Old Joe is living rent free in your head.
More than a million Americans have died from covid. A death rate comparable to Canada would have seen 600,000+ fewer American dead.
Go for it. Tell us about the economy.
