by that logic, a true Christian would not allow a woman to teach a man or ever supervise a man, or ever speak in church. and they would never ingest blood or revere idols.

I have not mentioned all the Muslims I have interacted with in person.

Take this Guy from Egypt who as a college student in Lebanon met this girl from Afghanistan. She always walked around as if hiding from the world. The entire Muslim get up.

He enjoyed beating her up.

I don't recall the date they departed the USA but when he was here, he often came to see me and at times handed me some pretty large bills, cash in other words.

He owned a carpet store he had opened. He explained that in Egypt he had family that had ships. I had never met somebody whose family owned ships. He said they were cargo ships.

But his poor wife. She walked around a lot with her eyes blackened by his fists. I heard her fate from a woman in the same building that tried to save her.

That is the only time I knew first hand of a Muslim beating up his wife.

Did he beat her up in front of us? Gee no. Did he do the beating? Somebody beat her and if he did not defend her, what does it matter?

There are very few if any true Christians around these days

They are dead in the eyes of god and thats enough for Jews these days. Again their are few if any real Jews around these days. Heck is there a real god around these days or ever?

 

People have to be careful not to let their religion make them crazy.. and they will argue that you have to be on fire... not lukewarm.

I am stunned by the remarks you got back over your commentary.

I hope there are millions of true Christians. I know in my own church, we have millions of them. We do not think God sees us as dead. I can't speak for Jews.

Is there a real GOD. Well, he did one heck of a lot of creating. Maybe he simply is on vacation or making up more universes.

I am not a Catholic. I really do not care to pass judgement on their church. I think though that many of them will be fine with God.

It would be great if more citizens got to the Jefferson property in VA and saw it personally. Tours like that come with a few surprises.

 

The thing is the bible was written by men not god. If there is a god do you really think it or he is so petty and vain as to require worship ?

 

Jefferson said that Christianity was a perverse, superstitious system.

 

Jefferson said he was a true Christian get your facts straight. He like me considered Jesus one of if not the greatest philosopher ever. He believed in his teachings but none of the divine mumbo jumbo.

 

Remember who wrote those "instructions". I would not be so quick to lay blame where it does not belong.

The gospels were written after the apostles were dead the bible was put together by Emperor Constantine

As to Thomas Jefferson, I saw no evidence or heard evidence when at Monticello on tour of Jefferson's home, disparaging Christians. You gave Margot a fine comeback.

The tour did include the guide discussing Jefferson's books and there are books still at Monticello. Jefferson edited the Bible. I am not clear how widely the book was dispersed.
