Giffords Set To Undergo Skull Surgery HOUSTON (AP) - "Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords will undergo surgery on Wednesday to replace a piece of her skull removed by doctors after she was shot in January. The surgery was confirmed to the Associated Press by a person familiar with Giffords' care. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the information has not officially been released. Doctors had to remove the portion of Giffords' skull due to brain swelling caused by the gunshot. Since then, she has worn a helmet while undergoing intensive rehabilitation in Houston to re-learn how to walk and talk. Gabrielle Giffords will appear at a public candlelight vigil on Sunday in Tucson to observe the anniversary with the city, the victims and their families.
I find ENORMOUS satisfaction in the fact that Giffords lived and lived well in spite of being shot point-blank with a glock, by a nut job "inspired" to seek vengence against Congress with arms by those engaged in egging on people to do so at that time.. It means there is a God. I was beginning to wonder.. And maybe God isn't so very happy with those people. And maybe that God loves Giffords for her tireless devotion to those she serves..
...... 1) The Giffords saga shows the great strength, courage and divine help that can be channeled to a victim of political hatred, political chaos, while doing a job she had recently been elected to do. Gabby did not know her enemy, and her attacker knew her only by her political party affiliation. The political climate was intensely toxic and history will reflect same. 2)The radical T-baggers' strength began to dissipate at the precise moment that Gabby was shot by a gullible loner. Karl Rove told Palin to keep out of the news for awhile until things calmed down due to her ad with a gunsight and the "get even" quotation. I suspect that God does love Giffords and God loves the misquided attacker. The hardest of God's Laws to follow is the one that says:"Love One Another" and it is barely visible in today's political scenario, just as it was when Giffords was shot, proving that many people have learned nothing from Gifford's experience.
