    This is the modern GOP:

Seriously.....Women int eh Missouri legislature can no longer have bear arms while in the legislature. The American Taliban are now in session

FF people...seriously, their mandating women cover their bare skin on their ARMS ?

Who wants to defend this ?

Not sure why she would want folks to see her Neanderthal arms. Yuk

Sharia law is a bit more strict than this. But I get the point

It also requires men to wear ties:
Not sure I care all that much one way or the other. My job used to require that men wear ties but dropped the rule about a decade point. I am still required to wear dress pants or khakis. Weirdly I don't think it is my constitutional right to wear sweatpants to my job. Perhaps some Progressive can file a lawsuit to sort this important issue out for us.

A great example of how politicians are out of touch with 2023. Why should any of us care how our representatives are dressed when they work? Business dress code is all but dead across the country, but it seems our politicians need to be told how to dress at work.

The funny thing is that it is the self-proclaimed freedom lovers who want to dictate to women what they cannot wear or do with their bodies, and who want to dictate schools what can and cannot be taught. Freedom for me, but not for thee, that's their motto.

ZERO chance that poster will reappear in this thread after that burn.... even though few in that caucus put MTG in the female category, being too scared of her/him...

I noticed this last week in another thread, but didn't open one....

Waiting for the hoopskirt and petticoat requirement addendum to follow...

Well, I'd have no issue with a "bare" minimum requirement, in any elected representative post..... They are unique jobs that often include appearing on TV.

No shorts, No T-shirts, No Hoodies. We can call if the Fetterman Rule if the GOP wants to, but since none of the rules ever seems to apply to men's dress code, I'm not sure that's appropriate...

But obviously this rule is nonsense...

    No. Dress codes are lame.

Protest suggestion: skin colored, tight fitting body suits.

I know everybody is looking at that picture thinking "MTG arms", but my first thought was Cinderella surrounded by her 2 step sisters....

This is absolutely ridiculous. A male politician can go into chambers in a speedo and t-shirt but god forbid a woman can go in there with a sleeveless dress or sweater and blouse. We are not in the 1920s anymore, or in the Victorian era it appears.

They are absolutely necessary if you are going to a 3-star Michelin Restaurant or some high end clubs for that matter. But not in Congress. Dress codes is way post 1920s.

    Please no !!!!!

They are plenty of people in Congress that I would rather not see in such garb. :)

Not only that, men are not allowed to show their knees, toes, or elbows. That is crazy.

Or stated another way: All representing members of the house while is session are required to wear a suite jacket, dress shoes, and pants.

Thats kinda the point. 'I will assault your senses with this ridiculous but 'adequate' attire until the dress code is more reasonable.'

I stand by my original statement. Private property can have whatever lame dress codes they want, and I'll happily do business elsewhere. I appreciate wanting to play dressup. But people who require others to participate in order to enjoy themselves aint my crowd.
