While guns can and have been used to put little holes in paper/cans/watermelons, which is how I used my guns, there is no denying guns were in fact not invented for that purpose. Guns were invented for the purpose of killing. Period.
I am not sure how many have killed by "assault weapons", but only about 3.5% of gun deaths are caused by 22LR. It is fairly small round with a relatively low muzzle velocity and usually does not expand after hitting someone. Is the 22lr Lethal? How Deadly is it? – Gun Tradition
tunnel rats often used high standard 22 pistols in nam because they were lethal against Charlie and they didn't have near the blast and noise in the confined quarters of a VC tunnel.
that's like saying the first knife was designed as a weapon and that means every knife since then is primarily a weapon. utter bullshit
I already thought of that, hence the pointy sticks bit. Spoons were originally made for eating but it turns out you can do other things with them, so what’s the point?
I treat every firearm as if there's a round in the chamber. I agree that a semi auto is not the best choice for a first gun . Thanks,
You deny guns guns were invented solely for purposes of killing? Again, I use mine for target shooting. Something I did as a kid with my dad and something I do with my kids now. But you can’t deny guns were invented for purposes of killing. That is a fact.
at what point does exactly does it matter when the items’ original creation blends into something else? An items first job often changes so this is still pointless.
to absolutely no federal regulations on firearms at all right? That's what the Constitution says. In order to have a nation by the people before the people the people must rule it not politicians who want gun control.
Which is a good opportunity to post the 4 fundamentals of gun safety, which I post every reasonable chance I get. (treat) All guns (as if they) are always loaded all of the time. <-my parenthesis to avoid long senseless discussions. NEVER point a firearm at something you don't want to destroy. (AbsaByGodLutely ... NEVER) Know your target and whats behind it. (always) NEVER put your finger on the trigger until you're ready to fire. (<-Period) Very simple and, if followed everyone goes home alive, healthy and happy.
and that means what? about the same as telling a collegiate javelin thrower on the track team that his javelin was originally designed to kill? IT IS COMPLETELY WORTHLESS A COMMENT
I've read and studied (at the college level) the whole Constitution. IMHO it's THE greatest document ever written by man for mankind, and why I'm an unwavering patriot.
It wasn’t worthless when you take into account context. The person I replied to had denied that guns were invented to kill. So there’s that. Carry on.
So, you obviously don't understand the whole Constitution, it's meaning or how the Founders intended it to work.
The basics never change and I started teaching other kids how to shoot when I was 12. Thanks for the reminder,
this response doesn't make sense. If you're going to see the Constitution as a whole somehow negates the amendments show me. If you can't show me this you don't really know That's not true we can look out at other things outside of the Constitution and understand exactly how they meant it to work. You're just pretending you're smarter than you are.
it has no value currently. why don't you tell me why it does. I cannot think of a single matter in the gun control debate that this claim of yours is relevant to
So again….because someone denied the fact that guns were invented to kills. I thought what I told you was pretty straightforward and easy to understand. Apparent I gave you too much credit.
