There's Joe inviting the world in. If you are going to blame Cruz or any other GOP politician who points this out as being responsible for our current open borders, you just make yourself sound ridiculous.

"Et al" includes everyone who says the border is open, although I don't even know what Biden meant by "there is, we surge the border". We surge? Sounds like he is saying that asylum seekers deserve to be heard.

Going back to current events, this year I have heard Biden say "do not come" and "you will not be let in", and I have seen his adim admin deport 1.5 million illegals, and I have also seen people like Ted Cruz parrot "the border is open".

That's what I see and hear.

IMO it is dishonest and harmful to claim the border is open, because
1. It's a lie. The border is not open
2. It encourages people to come

You didn't answer the question. I asked what time frame you used for your numbers. Since the CBP doesn't claim that there have been 1.5 million illegal entries this year (actually they say they don't know the number) then your number is incorrect. So what was the time frame for your numbers. I'm fact checking you.

 

They could be heard at the Embassy in their home country. Apply there and wait there.

 

It's right there in the screen shot from CBP. I provided it so you can see for yourself. It is the past 12 months, or 11 months since they dont have Sept 2021 numbers.

That is not an option according to US law. I suppose is COULD be an option, but I think the concern is that it would overwhelm the embassies with extra work.

Could you source that 1.5 million illegals deported this year? That sounds absurd but you've used it in several posts in this thread so you must feel pretty strongly it's correct, just like you feel pretty strongly that Republicans are the ones who opened the borders.

 

Already sourced CBP numbers. It is actually the number going back to Oct 2020 aka 'past year' as opposed to 'this year', so about 1.3 million fall to year 2021, although it will be close to 1.5 million once Sept 2021 numbers come out.

No, I never said Republicans opened the borders, I said they are telling everyone the border is open, which does nothing but encourage people to head for the border. The border is not open as everyone can see by looking at the deportation numbers, and the news where people are detained under bridges and rounded up with horses and lassoes.

 

I've seen it before, but don't recall where. It's a Biden administration PR lie they made up to keep their poll numbers from dropping even further.

In any case, Republicans are just as fond of criminal illegal aliens, like Cornyn of Texas and others; they did nothing for decades and even encouraged it, until it dawned on them Democrats were sending them to the polls and costing them seats, so I don't believe they will actually interfere with cheap illegal labor, they will try and compromise' hoping to keep them from the polls,a fantasy that will of course fail. They're part of the problem, not a solution.

Depends on what day it is, and who the audience is. If you're expecting consistency from left wing racists and ideologies you're always going to be disappointed. They still toss out the number '11 million' for the numbers of illegals already here, never mind they've been using that number since the 1980's, as if illegals suddenly stopped coming 40 years ago or something.

 

Haitians and other immigrants do not read National Review. They get their information by talking to relatives. They get their information from human smugglers who teach them what to say to get released.

 

And from American based 'activists' who publish advice and info in their native languages on how to manipulate our judicial system. We know many of the local governments also publish guides for their locals, and the Mexican government allows them to pass through without hassles.

Some come and some go. We know that lot of them left the US after the 'great recession', and many were deported in the years after that. Illegal immigration was off the charts in 1980s and 90s. Compared to about 6 years ago, the number for four times higher in the 80s, and the illegal population kept rising until the great recession. Also, border apprehension is one thing, but the visa overstays is a bigger problem.
