I would like to know if Biden would pardon Trump, if re-elected and Trump is a convicted felon?!![IMG]

If Biden did pardon Trump, he would need to resign from the presidency for stupidity
    and senility too?!!

All of the republican candidates running for president, with the exception of Chris Christie would pardon Trump, if they were president?!!

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley said on Thursday that, if elected president, she would pardon former President Trump, arguing it would be “in the best interest of the country.”

“I would pardon Trump,” Haley said at a campaign event, according to a video captured by NBC News.

“If he is found guilty, a leader needs to think about what’s in the best interest of the country,” Haley said. “What’s in the best interest of the country is not to have an 80-year-old man sitting in jail, that continues to divide our country.”

“What’s in the best interest of the country would be to pardon him, so that we can move on as a country and no longer talk about him,” she added.

Haley previously said she would be “inclined” to pardon the former president, also the GOP frontrunner in the presidential race in 2024, if he were convicted of a crime, and if she were elected president.

Haley has recently enjoyed a bump in her polling numbers, but still, former President Trump leads the pack of GOP candidates by more than 50 points. According to the Decision Desk HQ/The Hill national polling average of GOP primary polls, Trump has 63.1 percent support, Haley has 10.8 percent and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has 10.6 percent.

Trump faces four criminal cases, for a total of 91 criminal counts. Special counsel Jack Smith brought two federal indictments against Trump, for his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election and for alleged willful retention of national defense information.

He faces additional charges in a New York case involving hush-money payments to an adult film star and a Georgia criminal RICO case related to efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

Let her. The Georgia case is the most damning and she couldn't pardon him from that. It's going to be harder to prove he is criminally responsible for the Jan 6th riots. Morally and realistically responsible, sure, but that doesn't mean legally.

And really, what is the expected response to the Trump base when we have window lickers trying to get Trump struck from the ballot based on crimes he hasn't even been convicted of yet. I both completely understand that strategy as a political attack and am completely flabbergasted that people would be stupid enough to try it.

Let me say this. Charging Trump with crimes when evidence shows he likely committed them is not election interference by any means no matter how much the Trump apologists want to whine otherwise, but removing him from a ballot based on things he hasn't been found guilty of most certainly could be.

Trump's rising polling numbers prove Americans do believe this is election interference.

Haley has to say such things if she wants the nomination. She wouldn't be the first to make such outlandish claims while running for POTUS.

Her point is that if he was sitting in prison, it would continue to divide the country, so she would pardon him in order to lessen the division. Not a horrible idea.

For most of his life, Trump has been ripping people off in business. It shouldn't matter if he's 18 or 80 - people need to be held accountable for their crimes. In playing these politics, Haley is telling the country that she does not believe in justice or law and order.

    "no longer talk about him"?

Haley should be disqualified as a presidential candidate on the grounds for making the stupidest claim/lie yet about Trump and his supporters. :roflol:

She's obviously conveniently blinded to how they roll and instead of being truthful that she's whoring for any votes she can get and trying to stay on Trump's VP list she puts her "pardon" actions on what's best for the country.

“What’s in the best interest of the country would be to pardon him, so that we can move on as a country and no longer talk about him,” she added.

Pardoning him would never stop the self-proclaimed victim Trump/ilk from blabbering 24/7 and would cause even more division.

    As "Pants" said.

"Haley is telling the country that she does not believe in justice or law and order."

Hard core loyalists will never stop whining, but I think there would be more division if he was locked up.

If convicted Trump would first have to serve 5 yrs of his sentence before even qualifying for the pardon board to consider it.
How does this work if the defendant is sentenced to less than 5 yrs?

"Trump couldn't even seek help from the state's governor, because in Georgia, unlike many other states, the governor cannot issue pardons. Instead, pardons are issued by the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles, a five-member panel authorized by the state constitution.Aug 16, 2023

Georgia's peculiar pardon system is bad news for Trump

It seems his statement about being able to shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue wasn't a metaphor.

No. It proves that many Americans have no moral values.

It's proof that Americans are standing against the lack of morality on the left.

Good luck with that. The President of the United States can pardon people convicted of Federal crimes but not State crimes. So if Trump is convicted on criminal charges in say Georgia or New York? Well then (boo hoo) he gets to 'cuddle up' on those cold winter nights with his cell mate for the duration of his sentence.

BTW my sympathy goes to his cell mate.

Trump can still be elected even if convicted of any of the scam charges before him...

If Haley becomes president and pardons Trump, she will make the same mistake that Ford did with Nixon.

Wouldn’t people who think he should have immunity for his criminal acts, just vote for him?

    Probably.....
but what she did is one of the only significant statements that she could have made to attempt to increase her numbers at this critical time.

If she can't even win her own home state against Trump..... is her campaign serious at all?????

Nikki Haley has bet her 2024 bid on South Carolina. But much of her home state leans toward Trump
