agreed-it demonstrates a complete lack of understanding as to the mindset of violent criminals.

    1. Just because someone still does something, doesn't mean it hasn't deterred others. If rape and robbery were legal, do you think are numbers of incidents would decrease or increase?

    2. Far less than the # who would be willing to be arrested for having the fire arm.

First, the scope was school shootings not all crime in general

Second, how many shootings did GB have last year? How many did Australia have???

tell me how the war on drugs has worked out and all the crime surrounding the black markets it's created

and many people-facing their lives being ruined for merely owning a gun, might well decide to engage in violence against those who would arrest them. 100 million gun owners would annihilate the entire combined police forces of this country in a week if it came to that

    1) Doubt that'll have any effect whatsoever
    2) abortion is legal.
    3) That will only make more problems. Rewarding women for removing men from their lives only makes more men that grow up being abused and more likely to become criminals.
    4) agreed

you seem to be unable to understand the difference between countries that never had all that many guns with ones where not only we have 400 million firearms, but we have a tradition of owning them.

you also seem ignorant of the fact that our violent crime rate has DECREASED even with the addition of 200 million more firearms-mainly semi autos, and dozens of states allowing citizens to easily obtain CCW permits or carry without a permit while countries like England and Australia did not get any safer when they started engaging in collective bed wettings over rare but well publicized mass shootings and decided to punish thousands of lawful gun owners with bans or forced buy backs

How would a ban single out and stop only one kind of criminal
you think that's only because you have to use the black market to get guns.

Did you know mass killings are coming in China. They tend to be committed with vehicular murder. The impetus isn't the existence of guns and requiring people to use a different method won't really help.

He seems to think restricting access to only certain weapons will affect the impetus to murder children. Three is strict gun control in China and they'll drive a van to your house to execute you in the van and people still drive their cars over school children and kill them just out of apathy.

I guess if your kids are burned to death in arson or murdered via vehicular homicide they aren't shot but they are still just as dead.

Focusing on guns ignores the problem that's the point. Asking why these people are so apathetic and deranged to the point of murdering children is a more difficult question. So just pretend it's the guns.
The point isn't a reduction in crime it's avoidance of acknowledging the real problem. The real problem is complicated and difficult to understand and there is no little slogan that you can say that will make you self feel better about it. In fact there might not even be a solution to it at all. That frightens people. And frightened people are easy to manipulate. I'm gun control advocates seeking a dictatorship so they can do things and get away with it that they would be shot for really take advantage of that fear.

Restricting these things doesn't help look at every other major city and small town and everything between and their drug problems.

This should tell you banning something doesn't work.

There is an impetus that makes people seek to alter their state of consciousness. That is a difficult problem to try and understand it's possibly something too complicated for us to even be able to understand. This puts us out of control over it and you never had control in the first place. And it's scary not being in control.

Shutting the zombies behind closed doors doesn't make them go away. It just protects you from the truth.

Where did I say that? Or even imply it? Sorry, but I'm staying on topic. I'm discussing my strong, lifelong objection to the government sticking it's nose into our personal lives.

And no, regulations on medical processes rarely if ever require the identities of the individuals involved. It's usually about the safety of a process, device, drug, or medical facility. Where pregnancies are concerned, it's personal.

Could you please give me some examples? I'm not sure I understand that.

A baby should be none of the government's business until it is outside the womb and breathing on its own. Then they can assign it a Social Security card.

My body is my business, it is not the business of the people, and should never, under any circumstances, be up for a freaking vote. How arrogant are people who think they have the right to tell a woman what she can and cannot do with her body?

I respect that you have your opinion, but you can't get pregnant, and therefore can never truly understand either the physical or the emotional aspects of pregnancy, planned or not. That isn't a judgment, it just is.

Yes he did, he doesn't want to aid single mothers who keep their children, this WILL punish the children.

what punishes children is a welfare scheme that makes fathers a liability and encourages single parent households. Ultimately the real punishment comes from systems that encourage irresponsible people to breed

Which doesn't negate the fact that cuts to aid single mothers who keep their children, WILL punish the children.

    1. Unconstitutional, so this isn't an option. You would certainly not end school shootings. Regardless, you don't violate the rights of 400 million Americans because of a handful of mentally imbalanced.
    2. Abortion is legal. The Dobbs decision did not make abortion illegal. The Dobbs decision merely overturned Roe V. Wade on the basis it claimed Abortion was a federally guaranteed right on par with Freedom of Speech, etc. It correctly identified the authority to regulate abortion is not defined in the US Constitution and the power to regulate abortion is a power reserved by The People and The States. The Dobbs ruling by the SCOTUS means each state must put abortion regulation to a referendum or a vote by the legislature after the electorate has had a chance to elect their state representatives. The rest of your post in 2 is conjecture on your part.
    3. The cost of poorly raised children only far outweighs the cost of community support because we keep dramatically increasing welfare and safety nets and other community support. Understand, what you are proposing will not result in the benefits you envision. You are apparently of the mistaken belief these things are a free lunch and would be a benefit to single moms. They would not and they have not benefited the poor or single moms. Do your research in Economics. You will see all you are doing is taking money and decision making ability out of their hands and giving it to government bureaucrats. The bureaucrats take half of their money then hand out the remainder on the basis they follow bureaucratic guidelines decided upon by these same bureaucrats who know nothing about the needs of each individual recipient. They treat them like children, making decisions for them they wouldn't otherwise have to make. None of which result in "assistance". Most all are designed to protect the jobs of the bureaucrats. Let the public keep the money and we will do much better without the inefficiencies of the bureaucracy heaped on top of an already precarious situation.
    4. We definitely need to shut down the borders. And start locking up some of these criminals. Obvious to everyone except the Democratic leadership. And the schools? Vouchers baby! Get the government completely out of healthcare if you want to fix it. Ditto for your other safety nets. IT IS NOT A FREE LUNCH. You don't seem to be getting that. I REPEAT "it is not a free lunch". You are taking money from the poor, holding the other half ransom unless they do as they are told by bureaucrats. It isn't free and it isn't even paid for by someone other than the same people you think you are helping. You aren't helping them, you are hurting them and removing any options they have of improving their lot in life.

why should we encourage irresponsible breeding and forcing the taxpayers to pay for the mistakes of others?

If you plan to get an abortion you should go ahead and get one as soon as possible and not wait beyond three or four months. That is simply barbaric to take a 70% developed fetus

so you don’t know how criminals get illegal items? All you are proposing is sending good people to prison and feeding killers easy victims.

in your plan, do armored car guards also get disarmed?
