I have been having trouble with Internet Explore crashing all the time and I finally found a fix, I think. (I have #10, but I also had trouble with #9. I went to settings and then clicked on Internet options. Then clicked on Advanced and near the bottom was Reset. I clicked on that and it reset Internet Explore back to it's original settings when you got your computer. It doesn't take away the Favorites that you had stored, but it will clear your tool bar of quick web sights you may have stored at the top. So if your having trouble with Internet Explore as I did, you might want to try it. Now I just did it about a half hour ago and so far so good. Not saying it fixes everything, but it got so bad I quit using it and went to Fox.
I don't understand, you already had the correct solution by switching for Firefox. . .no need to do anything else.
I figured he meant Fox as in he turned on his TV and turned on Fox, like maybe it was an attempt at political satire? Like who needs the world of information at your fingertips when these pundits on TV will tell you the "fair and balanced" scoop? People post IT questions on forums for things they still need solving; typically not to post a success story about a problem they've just found the answer to.. That would be for a website to attract traffic wanting to solve the same problem. So I'm confused.
IE=Conservative FireFox=Liberal Chrome=Libertarian Now it is a valid political thread =crack now it isnt
The NSA utilizes numerous "back doors" into Internet Explorer in order to spy on us more efficiently. There you go, now this thread is political.
just don't use IE. Mozilla Firefox or Chrome are far superior browsers and are far more secure than IE. The only reasons to use IE are to update your system when Microsloth pushes out updates, or for those very few sites that only work with IE.
Sorry if this bothers you. Wasn't sure there was a forum for this, but I know of several people who were having trouble with Internet Explore and thought there must be a lot more. I was just trying to help. You guys might ask for it to be deleted. Sorry I even tried.
If you go to Off Topic Chat you will find a thread for computers and technology. As for IE, I quit using it several years ago although I still have it on my hard disk. I switched to Mozilla Firefox and have had a good experience with it -- until recently. I began to crash on me and one of the extensions would stop in the middle of a session. I have Chrome but use it for secondary browsing. I recently re-downloaded Opera and am finding it works just fine without any problems. I'm still figuring out the bells and whistles but, so far, it works just fine.
Well, Google does use Chrome to spy on you and track everything you do, so I suppose that's correct. Libertarians usually have no qualms about the private sector violating your privacy. Firefox can be reset in the same way as IE, should it ever get slow or unstable. Go to Help-->Troubleshooting Information and hit the "Reset Firefox" button. That nukes all addons and resets the profile to default, getting rid of any crud accumulated over the years. It will not nuke your bookmarks.
