A post has to be a minimum of 10 characters long or you get that warning and it won't let you post. Anything within a quote box doesn't count towards those 10 characters.

It may not be directly relevant, since I don't know what you were trying to post, but it might be so I'll include it anyway:
Posts which are purely quoted material from elsewhere, without comment from the member posting them, are actually against the forum rules anyway. Just so you know.

Hope that helps.

next time it happens :sun:
No no, if you are quoting something you don't want to remove that, it will mess up the entire thing as well as remove the quote box.
Just put in a few full stops and see what happens.

See what it did to my post when I quoted yours?

That happens to me occasionally, too. It has happened when I've quoted something and then added a whole paragraph of commentary, so I attribute it to a software glitch.

1. Why are there none of my posts showing in the New Posts section, when everyone else is getting theirs displayed ?

2. Why do I get a blank white page with 3 simple words (Page Not Found) when I click on "Contact Us" (are we supposed to only get help from each other around here ?)

3. In other forums, there is always a button to click to take you to your threads and your posts. Where is that here ? If I click the word "Search" with the down arrow, I get my stuff, but its mixed in with lots of stuff not mine. If I click User CP, I just get a few.

4. How do I respond to quotes individually ? (ie. each quote in its own quote box, followed by my response), rather than one big quote in one big quote box.

Could be that, as soon as you post, someone else's post is more recent than your yet? This forum moves fast, most of the time at least.
Do you know about the subscribe option, which should link you back to the latest post visited?

You could post your questions in
Feedback, or
for a more private option
Suggestions, which can only be seen by staff,
or
http://www.politicalforum.com/showgroups.php

Go to user CP, it should display your subscribed threads, and latest responses, if you opted for instant subscribe.

When you read my post, click on "quote" to see what I did....or
http://www.politicalforum.com/faq.php?faq=vb3_board_faq#faq_vb3_board_usage

Please feel free to ask, if this doesn't help.
Remember, I'm the new kid on the block and have lots to learn. Perhaps we can find out together.:)

You answered my 4 questions individually, with 4 seperate, individual blue boxes of my quotes, - how is that done ?

You can go about it in several different ways.
Highlight the text to be quoted, then click on the icon (its the one to the left of the # icon.
Or you can type the quote code starting with bracket ,quote, bracket, and ending the text with bracket , backslash, quote, bracket manually.

Practice a bit. Preview your post, and if didn't work, no harm done. Just don't submit until you got it right.

Edit
you can separate any length of text by doing that.

At the bottom right of the post, there are three icons (options).

First click on the center one (multi-quote), it will highlight.

Then, click the one to the left (Quote), and it will separate the quotes for you.

Hope this helps

I wanted to say, the method I described above, does not seem to be working for me today (obviously). Although, it worked perfectly yesterday. *sigh*

My apologies for only confusing the situation. Good luck.

next time it happens :sun:
:) Abu , to clarify , you don't need to delete the actual quote ... only the 'quote' ...marks , ok ?

(*)(*)(*)(*) , that's hard to explain ... :peace: look Abu , work with me here , ok ?

when you post your message , and it comes back that your message is too short , scroll down to the bottom of the page , and somewhere along the way you'll see this [ Quote ] ... that's what you need to delete for your message to go through .. just delete that ...

It's something completely unknown to most drivers here in Quebec. When we approach a stop sign, we slow down. If there are no cops around, we speed up again right through the intersection.

Only in the US does a cop threaten bicyclists for not doing a "full stop" to a stop sign. It happened to me once, and I got the impression that the cop was bored with nothing better to do, having no crime to be concerned with.

In the thread Bachmann Opposed to Sharia Law, Says It ‘Usurps’ Constitution , I am unable to go to the last page. page 24. If I click on Last Page, it takes me to page 23. If I click on the little 24 at the top of the page, I go to page 23. If I click on other pages (20, 21, 22, etc) I do get on those pages, but not 24. WHY NOT ?

Does anybody know ? How about the moderators ? HELP !!
