So you think genocide is justifiable. Got it.

Edit: But only when it's done by religious people, right?

    Okay?

Based on what? His constant pronouncements that he was doing everything in the name of The Lord Christ?

    ... What?

No... The Nazi forces. The Nazi armed forces.

    keep cool, sarcast

I think that - and it's very easy explanailable why I think so. We are using another form of semantic in case of the word "catholic". I'm speaking about the universal church and you are speaking about something what has to do with your political view on the world.

    What?

    ???

    ?

Hitler was an atheist. He declared his misrespect on god in lots of ways during his life.

Hmm - some weeks ago I saw a true Scotswomen in one of our church services. She was a pastor. I would not say I'm avoiding true Scotsmen.

There is no universal church, and I am speaking specifically about religion, not politics in general.

I'm not sure why you're so confused by a simple gramatically acceptable fragment of a sentence. Is it a language issue?

Except the only way that would ACTUALLY have made him an atheist - declaring that there was no god. He didn't do that.

Yawn, more avoidance. Carry on with your charade if you wish.

While you seem to be getting at a valid point - that the nazi party and the german army were two separate (although linked) organisations - in no way has anyone here confused either the nazi party or the german army with the german people as a whole.

No - the german government (Hitler) had the control over the german army - but he was not able to use the army for the most of his destructive ideas. The Nazi party itselve had an own army, the "SS". The normal german army was also involved in war crimes - but this were crimes. The SS was itselve a crime.

Hitler and the rest, like all right-wingers, was in a state of total mental confusion - and heavily into drugs in his latter years too. It is like the way American fundamentalist claim to be Christian - such people do not use words as normal folk do, and turn the universe into fuel for their fantasies. The only thing we need to know about Hitler is that his mission was, whatever his ravings, to save German capitalism which, in a weird way, he did.

There is an ignore function, I believe, if you're too timid to face a challenging viewpoint. And the discussion, by the way, is clearly not ended.

The Capitalims vs Communism debate is completly senseless in this context. Stalin and Hitler started war together. Hope you can find an english translation: http://www.ns-archiv.de/krieg/sowjetunion/vertrag/nichtangriffspakt.php

Fantasies such as calling Hitler a right winger despite all his socialist reforms, perhaps?

Hitler was so determined to save capitalism that he formed the National Socialist Party, which, as we all know, is what capitalists do when they take power.

How I do enjoy the rantings of ideologues.

how simplistic/naive...and in your alternate universe The Democratic People's Republic of Korea must be democratic because it says so right in it's name is that right?...

Hitlers job after WW1 was spying on socialists and communists parties for the military, one party he spied on was the DAP originally suspect because it had Worker/"Arbeiter" in it's name usually an identifier for socialism...but it was an ultra-nationalist party which evolved into the NASDP...having a social policy does not make a political party socialist, all political parties have a social policy of some sort...

when the Nazi's created the first concentration camps who were among the first occupants?... socialists...

Its a continuing source of amusement for me how many people assume that because Hitler SAID he was socialist, he WAS a socialist - and how many people say that just because he SAID he was christian didnt mean he WAS a christian.

Great point, however there is no democracy in N. Korea but there were lots of socialist reforms put in place when the Nazis assumed power (food and land reform acts of 1933).
Here, you seem lost. Let me list some of the platform of the National Socialist German Worker's Party. You tell me which ones are not socialist:
    12. In view of the tremendous sacrifices in property and blood demanded of the nation by every war, personal gain from the war must be termed a crime against the nation. We therefore demand the total confiscation of all war profits. (redistributionist socialism)

    13. We demand the nationalization of all enterprises (already) converted into corporations (trusts). (redistributionist socialism)

    14. We demand profit-sharing in large enterprises. (certainly not capitalistic, is it)

    15. We demand the large-scale development of old-age pension schemes. (just like SS, redistributionist cradle to grave care)

    16. We demand the creation and maintenance of a sound middle class; the immediate communalization of the large department stores, which are to be leased at low rates to small tradesmen. We demand the most careful consideration for the owners of small businesses in orders placed by national, state, or community authorities. (again, not very capitalistic)

    17. We demand land reform in accordance with our national needs and a law for expropriation without compensation of land for public purposes. Abolition of ground rent and prevention of all speculation in land. (expropriation by the state...redistributionist)

    18. We demand ruthless battle against those who harm the common good by their activities. Persons committing base crimes against the People, usurers, profiteers, etc., are to be punished by death without regard to religion or race. (anti profiteers and anti capitalists...sounds socialist to me)

You are so clever but you really don't seem to know what you are talking about. Perhaps you are not so clever after all.

Really? Socialists were the first victims of the concentration camps?

Redistribution has absolutely, hmm, zero to do with what capitalism or socialism are. All nations using capitalism have at least some form of wealth redistribution.
