The state of California apparently believes otherwise.

Which has no relevance to the discussion.

Again, which bears no relevance to the discussion.

And you may just as easily be killed from a bump to the head causing some undiagnosed aneurysm in your brain to rupture.

Explain why the firearms industry should not, and does not need to be shielded against civil suits for their product being misused for criminal purposes, when the industry was complying with all relevant laws in the first place.

That was the point, if Hydrocarbons were such a big issue, not only smoking would cause cancer, every time you lit a fire or Barbequed steaks you would be at risk, chewing tobacco is 1000 times greater a risk of cancer of the mouth and other related organs from contact with tobacco juices and other chemicals.

All Tobacco products contain carcinogens known to cause cancer in laboratory rodents.

The NRA represents its 5 million plus members that contribute over 50% of its funding. It represents their interests and those of anyone wanting to see 2nd Amendment rights protected, which of course also is of interest to gun, hunting, and all the other related manufacturers and industries, no different than the National Association of Realtors does for their interests and which spends many, many, many times what the NRA does on lobbying.

Unlike many lobbyists, the NRA is protecting a constitutional right against those that would subvert it. It provides a voice where absent that voice, the left leaning anti-gun media would be and still is the larger voice. You can look at the gun control advocacy groups and see that their lobbying spending is slightly less than that of the NRA, but, if you figured the cost of the constant press they get toward their cause and would monetize that value it would be significantly more than that of the NRA.

The NRA's power doesn't lie in the funds it spends toward lobbying, but that it has a dedicated membership and a significant portion of the population that listens to it and it can martial them to vote in a common cause. The funds from the gun industry mean little to nothing in the voting booth, it is the membership and sympathizers who vote that do have meaning.

Any group that works politically for a common cause that engages in lobbying would be amiss if it didn't work to secure funding from as many sources as possible. Just look at the Bio Medical groups, the Health Insurance groups, Computer Industry (Google, Apple, etc.), the Oil and Energy groups, AARP and many other groups that lobby for their interests, who, by the way, out spend the NRA. One major difference among these groups is that the NRA and the other gun rights advocacy groups, are fighting to preserve Constitutional rights. Lobbying special interest groups, like it or not, as a group, is an American institution.

As for not caring about anything other than being a mouthpiece, the NRA has long been a major advocate for gun safety, training, and one of the loudest voices for prosecution of criminals that use guns in the commission of their crimes.

I have a pretty fair idea how much the NRA spends specifically on lobbying which is less than 4mil per year. They don't even make it among the top ranking lobbyists.

    https://www.opensecrets.org/lobby/top.php?indexType=s&showYear=a

For a detailed description of NRA funding,

    http://www.amarkfoundation.org/nra-who-funds-the-nra-11-13-15.pdf

So when I say so what, I mean so What? The NRA behaves no differently than any other special interest advocacy group, and saying they could care less who gets killed while they pursue their agenda can't be further from the truth. People died to preserve the 2nd Amendment and our other liberties and freedom and they continue in that vein.

If you want to go down the line of the not caring path, I'd say that gun control advocates could care less who dies because of their advocated polices and can make a huge case for their body count, discriminatory leanings, (think Chicago) their advocacy of infringing on more than one provision in the Constitution.

I have no clue where you got that from my post. Perhaps you have me confused with another. Or, are you simply generalizing about anyone that doesn't agree with you?

Then it would also be incorrect to say hitting someone in the head poses no risk.

Better question might be why do taxpayers need to shield big businesses when folks harmed by that product lawfully file civil claims.

when the courts start DESTROYING the people who file BS lawsuits against gun makers like the Sandy Hook Parents, then maybe you will have a point. I love the fact that the Aurora plaintiffs were bankrupted for suing the gun maker

You people are so full of bull(*)(*)(*)(*), NRA is one 501 but there are many more for instance 1. NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund – 501(c)(3)

    2. NRA Foundation – 501(c)(3)

    4. NRA Freedom Action Foundation – 501(c)(3)
    “
    5. NRA Political Victory Fund (
    6. NRA Institute for Legislative Action (AKA NRA-ILA) – 501(c)(4)

    7. NRA Media Outreach – 501(c)(4)
Those are nothing compared to the under the table parts of the NRA , look into "NRA Ring of Freedom"52 million alone and that was way back in 2005. lets add the 21 million from ads, Ruger gives millions for $1.00 a gun they produce. ] Oh and the multiple millions they get from Midway USA, Springfield Armory Inc, Pierce Bullet Seal Target Systems, and Beretta USA Corporation. Other supporters from the gun industry include Cabala's, Sturm Rugar & Co, and Smith & Wesson. You do know why the many parts of the NRA are 501's I hope , They don't have to say who gave it or how much. Its a con that the regressive use all the time. They even do it for contributions to the party. You people have no clue , your made up world that you live in with your Fox and Rush generated minds. The is one point that has to be made and that is without lies and distortions wacko righties wouldn't/couldn't exist. Everything about you and your gun folly is a big joke on the world. It's called mental pollution. Again your not even close to the facts.

    *****************************************************************

You and the Liberal Left are the ones distorting the truth about everything, including NRA and the status of 501C3 tax exempt non profit entities, these are regulated by IRS tax codes and must maintain accurate records of all money received in donations, as well as account for every dollar and how it is spent, complete with full accountability, or someone will go to jail, just like Martha Stewart and others that lie to IRS.

You keep on using Libelous and actionable statements and baseless accusations against legitimate gun owners, and petty insults because you have no facts, the truth is gun grabbers use the same tactics
Adolph Hitler used against Jews in Germany, he had to paint them as Villainous in order to have an excuse to herd them up as cattle into cattle car trains, remove them to concentration caps where he killed them and cremated their bodies.

The Liberal Bannerrhoids fail to see past their hyperbole and hate for NRA, Which by the way consists of the General public, members that support legitimate law abiding people, and the Right to keep and bear Arms, firearms for all legitimate purposes in accordance with all applicable Federal and State and Municipal laws.

On an individual level, everyday many people legitimately use firearms successfully to defend themselves from Criminals, this is something Gun ban advocates deny and unsuccessfully try to ignore, NRA gathers many of these accounts and prints them in their two monthly magazines.

The Gun ban crowd aims it's hostility towards gun owners incorrectly, since Criminals commit Crimes, and are not affected by the ineffective measures the gun ban advocates wish to implement, magazine limits, bans on so called assault weapons, restrictions on handguns and concealed carry, crime and criminal activity is not directly affected anywhere these restrictions are in place, gun control is just not an effective Crime prevention tool.

How about a stolen pistol and the cops are hot on their tail?
I guess you've never heard "hotter than a $2 pistol"

Your problem is with free will not firearms. When you and those who travel with you are able to curtail free will you might have some impact on people who exercise this as a right (meaning lawfully exercised).

First, as was pointed out already, the IRS tracks NRA contributions very closely, as do they with any lobby group deemed contentious by either party. The NRA is particularly transparent; they have virtually no reason to hide income as their members and their sympathizers could care less where their funds originate and any lack of transparency would simply be fuel for the opposition. Do they get contributions from manufacturers and retailers such as Crimson Trace? Yes. So what? The NRA augments membership fees with contributions from various manufacturers and retailers, sale of advertising, contributions of free advertising, etc. So what? The members are fully aware. I am not a member, but I am aware. As I said, any lobby group worth its salt does the same in their respective industries, whether the various energy sector lobby groups or AARP. So what? If you have a complaint, why is that complaint not directed at the lobbying system. But, direct contributions from the industry are less than most people opposing gun rights know as they get their information from source that distort reality and myth.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/PoliticalD..._nra_and_the_funded_by_the_gun_industry_myth/

    As the article comments,

There are other groups beside the NRA, but most people lump them together. Gun manufacturers, retailers and those in secondary markets also do their own lobbying, advertising, and dissemination of information as well. Again, so what? It is sort of like, 'hey, do people realise the NRA supports gun rights? How terrible."

Attempts to vilify them on the lobbying front might work on the low informed and those advocating against 2A rights, but most people yawn. But, it is a hypocritical attempt by the left to do as much as possible to silence them, infringe on 1st A rights while looking to subvert 2A rights.

So to your posts, trying to make sensationalize and demonize a 'does a bear sh**t in the woods question', I say, yawn.

That is why the Gun Ban Advocates attempt to paint Wayne Lapierre as an Al Capone clone, it is impossible to vilify someone unless you portray them as wicked, then you find more reasons and excuses so you can proceed with the tar & feathers.
From petty insults, to the lies of the Brady bunch, and VPC, and Josh and Concealed Carry Killers, there is no end to the Chicanery of the Gun Ban Lovers.

...because there are no laws requiring gun lovers to register with a county Sheriff's office for posse duty.

I did not understand that expression before. I assumed it had something to do with a poorly made pistol overheating. Thanks!

Am I talking to a brick, They never have been liable for misuse of their product in a criminal faction, nor have I even suggesting it, bull(*)(*)(*)(*)ters from the right make this crap up because they can't argue the facts so they lie about what I said. This being a prime example.

Well then what is it that you want from the gun manufacturers? Weren't you saying earlier that you wanted to hold them liable for mass shootings?

I think that is just too bad for you. The 2nd A is a RIGHT of the people, and you can't go around "punishing" people who have done nothing wrong because you're scared.

They can't argue the facts without being buried so they make up things that you say. They have done that to me also. The right has been operating on lies and distortions and without them they wouldn't be able to exist

Funny this is what your response above is to my comment "You know you have won the debate when the opposition makes up things that you said or implied for a basis to argue against your point" What better example of the right wing adding things that I never said. Tell us where I even suggested what your comment says. unbelievable.
