you live close to LA by chance? despite the traffic and everything there, like the song goes- I love LA. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0b5LzCOc98E#aid=P-6vG9THsmk
I live in Orange County and there's a guy here with the user name "HB Surfer" which I think is a reference to Huntington Beach. I used to live in LA but after spending 3-4 hours a day in my car for a couple years I decided never to return, except for when I have to, which is surprisingly often.
Another LA to O.C. transplant here, 1964. Currently Newport Beach off Jamboree with line of sight to the ocean, 'cause I'm probably a few hundred feet elevation. LA has really deteriorated over the decades. The streets are bumpy and don't work. Too much sitting at a red light time. What the O.C. will always seem to lack is "culture". They can build museums, new places for major concerts and ballets, but it is like the land of the Lotus Eaters when it comes to higher, cerebral functions. Even the University of California, Irvine Medical School - California College of Medicine has the least academic recognition among the UC Medical Schools although it has a great location. Similarly, UCI's faculty have not been well represented for Nobel Prizes. One for the ozone depletion thing and halogenated hydrocarbons. Gladly I share Congressman Dana Rohrabacher with Surf City. And I support greater autonomy for the Greatest State of California if Not Independence. We need an initiative. Yea Californ eye A. Moi No
