Are you talking about Tom Price's so-called "alternative" that allows states to toy with the healthcare of the poor?

THAT ISN'T AN ALTERNATIVE, THAT'S MENGELE!

You actually think that post would make anyone lose their lunches?

And on a sidenote, what fundamental rights do you think are in no way beholden to a profit motive? You have a personal message and want to put ads on television to get it out - what are you going to do, declare it your right to use a station's airwaves? It's freedom of speech! Oh, and next you'll tell me that when you walk into a store you just demand whatever gun you want free of charge because, after all, it's a right and can't be held to any kind of a profit motive.

Rights and freedoms are about the right/freedom to do x, not to have x at someone else's expense.

What a waste of intellect when ignoring the reality of the field.

The whole argument of a universal health care in the US by president Obama is no more than his own arrogance to stay in history books making something valuable in his administration. That's all.

What it starts bad will end worst. Even if the intention was to bring health care plans affordable for the poorest in the US. well, the current ACA sucks, and its implementation is harmful for Americans in general.

The health care in the US was never an "emergency", perhaps something with urgent care but the solution was not a cure but a prevention.

Not having a health care insurance in the US is like a gout attack, where the best is just to avoid certain foods for a while and gout will go away. The famous Obamacare is the given of strong medicines to treat the gout but having the side effects of harming the liver and kidneys. At the end, the patient gets worst, the patient is free of gout but now has liver problems. And these are the Obamacare side effects found recently.

And what Obama and Co. want to do now? They want to give other medicines to treat the liver failure, medicines that will work for a while but at large will cause a suppress of the immune system, and finally the patient will collapse.

If the gout was to be leave alone, then it might cure by itself, and only preventive measurements like changing diet were to be taken.

The patient is the current US health care system, which suffers of some symptoms, but the restoration of health was not by giving strong medicines (Obamacare) but by taken steps to reduce the acid uric in the body. Just a pain reliever pill every 4 hours for three or four days was enough. This is to say, but making measurements to provide a greater reach of the current programs to be available for everyone.

But, the mess caused by Obama with his incompetent group of supporters has created a huge health problem. There is no fix now but to flush out the medicine from the patient the sooner the better. The Congress and House must perform a blood transfusion ASAP.

And the Constitution agrees with my point. The Constitution was made when Americans enjoyed a better diet, they didn't have smart phones but surely they ate healthy food.

And the Constitution intention (because I know about the Constitution better than BTPL :eyepopping:) was for Americans to eat healthy food in order to prevent diseases. So, McDonalds has been declared anti-constitutional, because sells food that causes obesity, high cholesterol, high pressure, diabetes, and even cancer. The primary goal, according to the Constitution is to close junk food stores instead of implanting Obamacare.

Anything more you want to ask me about the Constitution, please pull a ticket and wait for your turn.

    I am ignoring nothing.

When you are born with hydrocephalus and cerebral palsy like i was, there is no "AVOIDING" needing a potential brain surgery that could save my life. There is no "AVOIDING" the inevitable monthly twisted ankle from taking a misstep on the way to the restroom. When you are having a heart attack, there is no "AVOIDING" needing immediate cardiac defibrillation. When you are a diabetic going into hyperglycemia, there is no "AVOIDING" needing the drugs only available in a hospital.

Universal healthcare is the best option. It will allow companies to still maintain a product, and will allow all Americans to get access to the same healthcare. With the level of care we have in our nation, it does not take much to mandate that hospitals continue to provide the same level of care. The executives will just have to put off buying that summer home in Hawaii for....ever if they have to.

Conservatives seem to want America to be great, well, having a great healthcare system is the first step to doing that. Healthcare ensures a sound body, then education will ensure a sound mind, and with both of those, we will return to our former level of international prominence.

Your attempt to pull the intellect card on me is belied by the fact that you don't understand the Constitution nearly as well as you think, not to mention your grammatical errors, in other words, you pulled the joker, not the ace of spades. I have a stack of books I'll go to before I ever ask you a question, and then before I ask you, I'd ask my cat...

The only only people who are incredibly stupid or naive are the people that trust government with their lives.

And in most countries with a single payer system you could only get that surgery by going somewhere else.

For sure. Providing health care is not a proper role of government. That is a proper role for a doctor, nurses, and medical facilities. They want to get paid for their time and that is the job of the patient.

Government has no business taking money from me to pay the doctor bills of others. If they would let me keep my earnings I could easily pay my own bills.

I believe that they need to get rid of the HHS Mandate which is an unconstitutional impediment to our freedom of religion and then we can see how the Affordable Care Act works. I hope it does work. I like the fact that it eliminated the thing where health insurance companies could discriminate against someone based upon preexisting health conditions though and I am a conservative. I really don't know much more about it than that. I really don't like the idea that those who refuse to get health insurance will be fined though.

They need to repeal the entire thing and go back to where we were in 2008.

As usual, you provide absolutely nothing worthwhile to the discussion at hand. Going back to the old system will mean further denied coverages. You conservative idiots like to point out how many are projected to die under Obamacare, but you never seem to acknowledge the numbers of people who DID die because they were dropped from their policies the second they got the diagnosis of cancer.

    Re: Post #137

Going back to the 2008 system and doing nothing thereafter would be a huge improvement on ObamaTax.

First things first. You're not a centrist. Thinking that:

    a) the founders intended the constitution to authorize national healthcare

    and

    b) the constitution doesn't mean anything and doesn't need to be followed

...means you're not a centrist. Those are not centrist positions.

Secondly, someone who holds those two (see a and b) positions which are both unsupported and mutually contradictory, is not my "intellectual better."

However I welcome you to the conversation. You'll be a fine example of leftist thought!

LOL really? That little gem is entirely misleading.

It's not a "redefinition" of cancer, it's softening the blow. Just like it's sometimes better to tell children that a parent that passed away that "Daddy or Mommy went on a long trip", when most patients hear "you have cancer", they IMMEDIATELY panic, thus making it harder for the doctor or doctors to easily treat the patient.

It's not well known that out of the trillions of cells in a human body, by pure chance, one of them each day will be cancerous. Usually, the body's immune system will be able to detect and eradicate the cancerous cells before they become a real danger. Telling someone "you have cancer" is probably high on the list of things they don't want to ever hear, so softening the blow is while lying, preferable to the likely freakout the truth would herald.

Learn how to use the damn REPLY WITH QUOTE feature *******MIT The only reason I saw this was because it was bracketed by two other putzes that I have to correct.

Again, You like to point out how many people are projected to die because of Obamacare, WHAT OF THE PEOPLE THAT DIED EVERY YEAR BECAUSE THEIR INSURANCE DROPPED THEM THE SECOND THEY WERE DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER, ALS, OR OTHER CONDITIONS????

YOU HAVE NO ANSWER FOR THAT, BECAUSE YOU KNOW YOU ARE WRONG, BECAUSE YOUR TINY CONSERVATIVE MIND CAN'T CONCEIVE OF THE CONCEPT OF OTHER PEOPLE!!!

Yes, I know I am shouting, but I am sick and tired of going over the same CRAP every other page with different people because they can't READ THE TOPIC.

Typical Conservative fallacy, anyone to the left of them is automatically a leftist I am quite sick of that little mischaracterization.

But yet again, let me clarify yet again, and for THE LAST MOTHERF*CKING TIME, SO READ IT VERY CAREFULLY!!!!!!!!!

The Constitution of the United States has been so broadly construed that it has lost all of its initially intended meaning. Once that was done, there was no value in maintaining the document as the operative constitution of the United States and should have been replaced. I am not advocating unconstitutional behavior, I am saying that the Constitution is not followed by the leaders in power anyway, as I am *******N SURE every Conservative on this site has said about Obama, and every Liberal here has said of Bush at one damn point in time or another. I have for years believed that a General Article V Convention needs to be called to scrap the entire Constitution and bring it into the 21st Century, maintaining much of the principles of the document that worked, but ensuring a democracy, not an aristocratic oligarchy. As for "national healthcare" as I have said before, "General Welfare" in a 21st Century context can easily mean that. If you don't like it, hop in your damn time machine and go back to 1787 Philadelphia and tell Gouverneour Morris to keep the original Preamble.

I'm quite aware of the concept of "other people" but they still do not have a right to filch taxpayers' money.

Lots of opinions, lots of ideology, a bit of shouting, some nonsense, a little bit of philosophy thrown in, and yet these two facts make up the elephant in the room:

Every other modern nation in the world has some form of government paid health care that covers everyone, or at least, everyone who wants it, and

They all pay far less than we do, all of them, no exceptions.

It's not a matter of being to the left of me, it's a matter of being to the left of all but a tiny minority of people in this country. Let's face it, thinking that the constitution is illegitimate and that it should be replaced is not a centrist position. Neither is National Healthcare. If it was, we would already have it. I won't promise to not tell you this for the last "MOTHERF*CKING" time though, since you don't strike me as the type who picks up things the first couple go rounds. As an example, I just had to restate something I've all ready said because you didn't get it before.

Sure. Get on it. I think my podunk hospital in the middle of nowhere sold for around half a billion in the end. Multiply that by all the hospitals in the US, take that amount of money out of welfare, and it is a win-win.

You foolish, naive little man. Thomas Jefferson himself wrote that constitutions automatically lose legitimacy after the people who drafted them have left this Earth. He said it multiple times. Guess you're too blind to have ever read that, eh?

We should also have proportional representation, since it's a surefire way to ensure democracy, but we don't, since the aristocratic oligarchy in power is too corrupted by the money they get from their donors, and the citizenry is too stupid to actually realize we don't HAVE a democracy at a federal level. It'd take some work, but it's possible if the citizens work on a state level.

The founders left an escape hatch to get out of the constitution. You declaring it's illegitimate by fiat is not it.

Wow, I didn't say that it was illegitimate, I said it had lost all meaning and thus needed to be replaced. Congratulations, you've gone past naivete and slammed headfirst into complete idiocy....Bravo. It's always heartwarming to see someone try to turn my words around on me only to end up looking just slightly more intelligent than a common garden slug.

I said that there needs to be an Article V convention several posts ago, in that bold block of text you more than likely overlooked, despite the fact that I bolded it for you to read.

    You're pitiful.
