If those who are here illegally, which is a criminal act, want family reunification, they can simply return home.

It is clear that if the students with or without the support of parentage, wanted to learn, they would. What is being ignored by intent or lack of knowledge, is that if a student wants to learn and it interested, they would, if there is a new club that they want to visit or a new hip-hop CD was released, they would make all effort to obtain it. I refuse to believe that students have difficulty learning, when school administrators make all effort to appease said student.

Public schools need to be privatized, the best ones live and the poor ones go out of business.

Being here illegally is not a crime. Familiarize yourself with the law.

If you're unwilling to compromise, you may be part of us passing up the last best chance to stop illegal immigration. You could be the illegals' best friend.

If people want to learn, they don't even need school for all but a few courses requiring specialized equipment (chemistry labs, for example.) It's the teacher's job to get students to learn and believe what they learn is important to remember. This vital function is what separates smart teachers from mediocre instructors.
I wonder if you understand what makes a school successful, and who is and isn't a good teacher.

Astute consumer parents? I hope so, but when I see the pieces of junk cars people buy I have my concerns. Still, I think we should move toward privatization.

You should read your own cites. It isn't a crime to overstay a visa.

Langley, I am well aware of what I posted. It is an administrative violation to overstay a work visa (H-1B), but it is a crime to enter the (dis)United States without permission. THIS IS WHAT I AM FOCUSED ON.
as an Addendum, when I mentioned construction as a major employer of illegals, I did not mention landscaping, Fast Food facilities, contractors with the U.S. Postal Service, etc. I also did not overtly mention why the illegals are here in the first place and now I will. It is immoral and unethical in my opinion to force employers to hire; hiring should always be left to the unfettered decision making of the employer. With this stated, it is a crime to hire any person who has entered this country without permission, yet there are no prosecutions to my knowledge of any of the employers in Sanctuary States and defacto Sanctuary States, why is that?

I submit a wall is ineffective especially when half of them entered legally on a visa they overstayed. I want to stop them from getting work by instituting an effective e-verify even though some border interdiction measures would be useful. Trump hasn't pushed anything but the wall because it's obvious he doesn't really want to solve the problem.

The technology exists to have a rock solid e-verify program. If Trumpites don't stop following the shiny object (the wall), we're going to miss what might be the last chance...
Huh? We should have an effective e-verify program and employers who knowingly hire illegals should be fined for minor infractions and sent to jail for more extensive violations. That includes people hiring illegals to do domestic work, day labor, gardening, etc. Illegals should be RADIOACTIVE to employers.
We need federal inspectors to check on employers when we have an effective e-verify program in place. Trump needs to put down the golf clubs and get to work on the most important problem facing the country. No more excuses. I'm not going to follow his shiny object.

E-Verify does nothing and you and I both know it.

It would if it is set up like the Nexus Pass where everyone entitled to work here receives a card and every employer, even of domestics, must check the card and potential employee against the government database. There would be a nasty fine for every illegal employed and jail terms for blatant offenses. Federal inspectors would spot check employers (santuary cities and sanctuary states would be irrelevant).

I often wonder why, when discussing illegal immigration, conservatives focus solely on those individuals who want to work, rather than the employers that want to hire them.

Seems to me that short of rolling a cart down the street selling ice cream, very few illegals would be working if the onus was placed where it obviously belongs, squarely on the shoulders of employers who hire undocumented workers.

I say it will not have any effect on illegals being hired in the construction field, the landscaping field, and all other employment industries that do not rely on social security numbers. On the topic of Social Security Numbers, did you know that Sanctuary States and defacto Sanctuary States literally give illegals the Social Security Numbers of deceased persons and they also offer these illegals fake Social Security Numbers. With these events taking place, e-verify does absolutely NICHEGO, NOTHING, ZERO, NADA.

Post number 990 mentions employers. As a matter of fact, I have mentioned employers of illegals several times over the past months.

It doesn't matter if employers pay people under the table. Federal inspectors visit and observe the job site and demand to see the ID card. They can check the employee against the database with a smartphone reader. We'd have the employer dead to rights.
Not if e-verify is changed to a card system modeled on the Nexus Pass per my suggestion. Illegals would be RADIOACTIVE in the construction industry.

Good. You don't know anything about Nexus and how we can use computer technology to stop employers from hiring illegals. You can't stand the idea our Glorious Leader is not doing anything effective to deal with illegal immigration. You have a bad case of cognitive dissonance.

But there is no catch and release because there is no crime hence there is no release while they wait for a trial or hearing. No court, no hearing, no appeal just a bus/plane ride.
