The son of the president arrived on Capitol Hill on Wednesday morning to attend in person a congressional committee meeting called to hold him in contempt of Congress — setting up an unprecedented standoff on live television between Hunter Biden and House Republicans who have long sought his testimony as part of their impeachment inquiry into his father.

House Republicans plan to hold a committee vote on Wednesday recommending that Hunter Biden be charged with contempt of Congress.

He's there watching his own contempt hearing.... being covered live on MSNBC...

Rep Moskowitz just polled the room if they want to hear from him ON THE SPOT?

    Few R takers...

    Political theatre at it's finest....

FWIW, I would have no problem with charging Hunter with the same contempt of Congress I have for this particular body. It's not a binding punishment of any kind.

Ooops... he just left the room during MTG's time (as any normal person would)

Fled. When faced with having to answer actual questions, dude up and ran away. Theatrics, not legal compliance. It's disgusting.

LOL...What actual questions was he going to be asked during his contempt hearing?

The chair didn't take Moskowitz up on his suggestion, so he wasn't going to be asked any questions today.

Having a shrew yell at you while you are in the audience is not Congressional procedure...

Excellent move by Hunter to show up the corrupt and partisan Republican thugs on the House committee.

Do you understand this wasn't a deposition type hearing and a witness wasn't under oath? He was just an audience member...

Shrew can yell all she wanted, but she wasn't going to ask him any questions in that format..

Get real, dude... He picked the PERFECT time to leave...

Comer was given one last option to swear in the witness on the spot, and he looked like an entire herd (??) of deer in a dozen headlights... Thinking on the fly obviously not his forte....

Talking head former Congressman on MSNBC said it was pretty obvious the D's on the committee were part of the play.... Could very well be, as they seemed a little more prepared (wouldn't be hard)

It is called "arrogance". The drugs have pushed back some very important memories that are preserved in various forms.
He has apparently ignored two subpoenas.
    And
Then he shows up as if he is a spectator.
Then he offers to "Do it now".
I'm surprised he didn't proclaim this his DILLIGAC moment.
Arrogance brought about by mental illness caused by long term drug use.

LOL.. I do, actually. And having taken the opportunity to show up, obviously, there are challenges, meaning that the support to hold a deposition wasn't done, I suspect the real goal of democrats on the committee was to produce a spectacle for further grandstanding. But, since dude was there, It surely could have induced panel members asking him questions directly. Clearly he was there with his attorney. He had adequate representation, and yet dude ran away. Skert.... And this is you clapping for it... Laughable.

I think you may be mischaracterizing the event. Likely, you're entirely aware of the committee rules, but just decided to ignore those. As mentioned in the last post, these things ought to be planned. Do you believe that not allowing the committee to be fully prepared to question a witness isn't necessary?

Did you watch the part where Moskowitz asked the panel if they wanted to swear Hunter in? Literally some hands were raised, but Comer didn't go for it.

That's his failure, not mine or Hunters....

Then why do you state MTShrew was "was about to start asking him questions"??

Was that BS on your part?

A committee that cannot adjust on the fly to new circumstances really isn't worth all that much..

Doesn't matter now... the point was made.

Had she, I expect that you'd be crying about how she didn't give Hunter appropriate admonitions, etc. The whole thing looks like a lose lose kind of event designed to undermine the credibility of the committee.. Why again, did Hunter run? If, as you suggest he was ready or willing to take questions, why did he run?

He didn't run... he casually walked out when it was clear that the opportunity to put him under oath wasn't going to be taken up.....

Better question, why would he stay??

See the video. He ran as soon as she was recognized. Evidently, he's very afraid of folks he cannot control the questioning from.

Lol...Hunter may be a crack head con artist, but he's obviously smart enough not to play mtg's agenda.
His move reminds people of the repubs' refusal to let the public hear him defend himself.
The whole rabid maga assault of Hunter is nothing more than a cheap political stunt being used to attack his father, and voters understand that.

He knows he's above the law and untouchable.

This stunt was him thumbing his nose at the law.

Unhinged Gym Jordan's panties are in a wad over Hunter and "deposition subpoenas". :roflol:
Gym was issued his subpoena about 600 days ago.

" House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., and Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, have said Biden must first testify behind closed doors, and in a report released Monday stated that “Mr. Biden’s flagrant defiance of the Committees’ deposition subpoenas — while choosing to appear nearby on the Capitol grounds to read a prepared statement on the same matters — is contemptuous, and he must be held accountable for his unlawful actions,” the reports read. Rep. Eric Swalwell called out Rep. Jim Jordan for refusing to comply with a subpoena from the Jan. 6 committee for almost 500 days. "I welcome you to the Law Firm of Insurrection LLP where they work every single day on behalf of one client: Donald Trump," Swalwell said during a House Judiciary hearing Wednesday.EDIA=youtube]HsTTKROC2NE[/MEDIA]
