I am tired of all the "first this" and "first that" of Biden Administration

Why the blazes does the Biden gang ( aka Administration) need to announce each person being introduced or nominated to a position or elected or innaugerated as being the "first" of something? Who gives a Flippity Dip that Harris is the first woman VEEP! Ok nice she is the first that is great Does that mean that we have achieved Nirvana and have achieved the epitome of equality? No I say!
You know when we will achieve equality? It will be the day that we innaugerate a Black woman (or fill is your favorite minority) as POTUS and no one will say " that is the first Asian Black woman to serve as president". And if someone says that we will say BFD.

I do believe that our government should look like our population. Yet most importantly our government needs to be populated by the best we can get to serve . Why should we care if they are a left handed gay former mayor transgender Asian, Serbian, Zeelander Christian converted from Muslimism whose parents were Orthodox Jewish Ethiopian and Druze from Kurdistan who likes Show Tunes and was once an Obama Democrat turned Kasich Republican lived in the South has relatives who belonged to the Daughters of the Confederacy and were once Irish booze smugglers with a fourth cousin in the Mafia first ever born in Antarctica and whose hobby is to raise African orchids and makes home made KimChee whose great grandfather was related to Chaikovsky but hates symphony music but drinks only Bavarian beer.

You know what would be great. That we inaugurate the first POTUS and VEEP since Washington who is not known for lying and leaves and goes home quietly and politely after after their term or terms are over.

Anyone agree that we had had enough of this "first ever" nonsense??

 

Biden isn't announcing anything. It just happens to be true and the media points it out. Unless you can find fault with the qualifications of his appointees, I find your opposition to these '1sts' suspect.

 

LOL... even the mildest criticism of not Trump is now 'suspect' (code for accusation of bigotry, right?).

 

"Biden is making vanity appointments [insert why the appointment is unqualified for the job]!" and "Biden is appointing minorities!" mean different things when you read between the lines even if they say the same thing at a casual glance. That the OP did the 2nd is suspect.

If you've never seen people like you in high-profile public positions, it matters and can be very moving. Take for example how liberal commentator Juan Williams responded to Harris' swearing-in.

 

Dude the qualifications of most of them are that they are the first something or the other. That was the whole point of the exercise qualifications beyond filling in the pertinent intersectional slot were entirely secondary. I agree. I was quite surprised to read the OP, myself. I would have expected it from some other regular posters, but not Partizan1. I don't mean that as a dig. It was just surprising to me.

 

I have yet to see Biden nominate a cabinet official simply because they contributed to his campaign. That's a good thing, in case anyone was lost on the error in judgment made by "others".

Do you have specific facts of what policies the transgenderist was responsible that directly caused deaths? I noted in another thread thatbwould be very disappointed actually pizzed if the trans "guy" was chosen just because of him wanting to become "other than a complete man". Aerioysly what policies actually directly cause deaths.

 

For centuries, non-white people have always been "at the back of the bus" and, in many ways, still are. It doesn't matter which minority group we're speaking of - it's been longer, harder and more rife with racism (and sexism) on the road to success.

Until we can truly see people based on their contributions to society above ALL else (race, religion, color, creed, etc.), we are going to have the rare moments of historical precedents acknowledged.
