People are already allowed to own such, and we do not need an even more militarized police force as a result.

That must be a Colorado thing. To my knowlege, they don't allow automatic weapons permits to civilians.

If it was legal to have a Ma Duce, the cops out here would need RPG's pr better to take them out.

You can purchase a machine gun through a Class III FFL dealer. Civilians own Ma Duce's, and there hasn't been a need to further militarize our already fascist militarized police forces.

There are just a couple states that out right prohibit the sale of Class III items.

I think California is one of those states that outlaw them, I think. I left that out of my last post. I wasn't trying to act like I know what CO's laws are like

I've never had any problems with police exhibiting any facist tendencies. I have lot's of relatives who are cops, and none of them are crooked or oppressive

Federally it is allowed, it just depends on state laws.

Kansas actually removed their ban on NFA items a few years back.

Their job is to enforce limitations on your freedoms though. Good person or not, I keep my police friends at arms length.

Indeed. Giving the police more power should ALWAYS be seen as a bad thing. They are a symbiotic parasite of what is known as a free and civilized people.

    They are a disgusting necessity.

And not ANY civilian can own an automatic weapon. We here in california can just barely own watered down AR-15's and AK-47's.

Regarding the right to bear arms as extending to possession of nukes:

Limiting yourself to pea shooters against an enemy that has no compunctions against using anything against you is suicidal.

Maybe all those folks that make no argument for nukes should agree with this representative of anything goes against free people:

Ayuh,.... As far as I can tell, every gun control law, written since 1934 has been the progressive liberals, Exploitin' somebody else's perceived tragedy...

And,... Every one of these gun control laws have had little to No effect on the crime they supposedly control, but rather makes criminals outa lawful citizens...

You know, it's funny... I watched a "documentary" on this issue as well, and I spent most of the show wanting to throw stuff at the screen due to the unbelievable lies being told.

In one section, they held up a short-barreled, select fire M4 carbine, saying it was an "American made gun" and implying it was bought at a gun show. Lie. Class III fully-automatic weapons and short-barreled rifles are strictly regulated and not sold at gun shows. It was clearly a military weapon sold to the Mexican government and then diverted via the black market to the cartels.

In another, they held up a Ma Deuce .50 caliber machine gun and flatly stated it could be bought over the counter without a background check at a gun show. I almost puked in disbelief that someone could be THAT blatantly dishonest.

Finally, I have spent time in Federal law enforcement and I have friends that continue to serve. The entire argument about gun stores in the United States selling guns that go into an "iron pipeline" to Mexico is bovine excrement. That was manufactured nonsense, deriving from law-abiding dealers who let themselves be railroaded by the ATF into making straw purchases after they were assured it was part of an ongoing investigation.

MOST of the guns used by the drug cartels in Mexico are actually Eastern-Bloc AK-47s and light machineguns that came up from South America. Any claims to the contrary by gun-control advocates are completely false and dishonest propaganda.
