In my opinion....everything we submit in this forum has a basis on our own personal understandings and beliefs on whatever topic is being discussed, and the ability to produce agreement and acceptance of this belief in others is the basis of winning a debate. Should SEC decide this is an inaccurate interpretation of this reality...I would very much enjoy debating the "Why", and request Megadeathfan moderate under the one on one debate rules.
lemme get this straight you wish to debate about whether or not most topics on a political forum are opinion based? What would my position be, that they are all fact based? Unlike real scientific facts, most facts posted within this entire forum are skewed toward desired results. I can conduct polls of parents and show that most people are against killing babies You could conduct polls of promiscuous people and show a poll which states that a woman must have choices do you see how that works? Can we look to political debates and declare them a success given the left leaning message projected by media and Hollywood? So, I'm not sure your point. What side do you wish me to take?

my reply to you was based upon the request for debate about killing or not killing babies. (see what I just did there) I stated that it would be basically a waste of time given how strong of opinions people have on that topic. Do you really think one who believes in killing babies (I did it again)can have their opinion changed from a post on a web forum? And, on the flip side, do you think one who holds dear the sanctity of life (did it again) could be convinced that killing babies is a good thing (whoops, again) Nope, and those "voting" or "weighing in" would be the usual suspects much like your opinion is set as is that of your proposed moderator who would moderate us as we debated (still trying to figure out what exactly is there to debate) No matter how many times you say zygote, or choice at me it will never sway my feelings toward murdering babies. No matter how many times you say "fairness" or "equity" to me it would not change my opinion about capitalism vs laziness (see, I just did it again)
I'm up for it. I'm doing exams at the moment though, and I finish around Christmas, so if we start now you'll have to factor in that I might be away from the debate for a week or so at a time until the new year.
