I challenge Church mouse to a debate

This debate will be centered around the actual words spoken or written by Margaret Sanger and the pro-life mis-use of those quotes through misrepresentation, cherry-picking and pretty much lying, and the fact that Sanger was very much pro-life.

Rules:

1. Anything posted that is directed at the person and not the topic will be reported
2. Any other person who responds will be ignored by myself and Church Mouse and a request sent to a MOD to remove the comment from the debate.
3. There are no restrictions on sources, but each source MUST be cited and if possible linked to within the response.
4. The debate is over after 7 days from the first comment, where a poll will be created for any other member to vote on based on the arguments in this topic alone.

CM - If you have any other rules you wish to add, or you wish to change those listed please comment on those changes or additions.

As I am a gentleman I will allow CM to go first, placing her quotes from Sanger here and defending their authenticity in accuracy and context.

So there it is, let's go.

 

I told you I would not do this unless no one else can post and it is a formal debate. There are two many of you who will try to derail and make pot shots. And then who is moderator? What mod is not biased and who has the time?

I will tell you this once again...this is the 4th time....

I started a thread to be ONLY between Christians talking about abortion. Did you try to derail that thread? Did others? Yes..and I am not going to take the time to do this...when your groupies will come in making pot shots at me. First of all I was told that anyone can post in any threads. So if they make exceptions for this... what they told me in response to my asking for help in the thread I started was.........NO. No, anyone can post in any thread.

This is not about the information that would go back and forth between the two of us...this is about control. And from where I am sitting and I think Anders and SAm can attest to this....well...let me try to word this without getting an infraction. .....Hmmmmm I can't.

No fair debate can happen on this forum just because of the people involved. And you will take this and say that I am running...which I am not. Told you I would debate you in another forum set up to do this..or in PM.

What is your goal...the debate or to bash? Because I can discredit you just on your three different positions fugazi.

Another thing. I work...you might not but I work. I am not on here all the time like the majority of you are. So if I was to answer and then not for a day...or two..I can imagine how many would say.....oh look at her run.

That is what I am accused of doing all the time. You might sit at your computer day and night....I DON'T. So you say a week....that is not enough time just based on how much I get on.

Lets also throw in racism and the way she duped blacks into thinking that she actually was not a racist. That she was a master manipulator.

Can you just start something like this..without my permission and put it in the list of abortion threads?

I have asked no MOD to oversee this, it will be a case of either of us asking any MOD we wish to remove comments, therefore there will be no bias.

I have no idea what thread you are referring to and did you start the thread here or in the main forum?
If it was in the main forum then it was not a specific challenge to a person or group of people, so yes anyone can comment.

Unlike you I have no wish to control anybody, this challenge is purely about the mis-use of quotes attributed to Sanger, which you defend as actual and which I say are mis-quoted and/or taken out of context, you have the opportunity now to put forward your evidence to support the quotes and the way they are used.

well in my opinion this is simply a cop out, if you know of another forum then please point me in it's direction then.

The debate, but as I can see that is not your intention, because you can't even stay on topic here .. my position is not the OP is it and is irrelevant to this.

Yes I work full time, so if the time limit is too short why don't you suggest one.

Sorry but no, the debate is about the mis-use of those quotes, your challenge is to show that the quotes you and pro-life sites use are not misrepresenting Sangers comments.

I gave you ample opportunity to start a debate on ANY subject you wanted to, you didn't bother, so now you don't get to dictate what the subject is.

If that is part of your defence of the improper use of her quotes then go for it.

I can, just as you can, challenge any person to a debate . .read the rules.

sorry but you can't debate the person, only the position.. if you can debate abortion positions without using a name then go for it.

as it stands so far I have seen nothing but excuses from you in order to not debate.

 

Lets revisit that at a later time.
