I don't know what party this candidate is representing, but he would get my vote.

You mean "she" right. Dr. Mai Khanh Tran is the one running for congress.

Very touching, but what are her policies? She is obviously an exceptional person.

It's too easy for folks on the Right to assume all Democratic politicians are anti-military kum-bay-yah types, but it's not true by a long shot. If this lady wins it will be good for vets, good for the Democrats and good for America.

That's incorrect. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii is a Democrat that I personally find to be extremely intelligent. She's a vet, and unfortunately, she was pushed aside from the Hillary crowd because she wasn't the perfect "progressive".

She wants to get us out of the middle east, wants to take care of our vets...etc.

    Hillary had other ideas.

Tulsi unfortunately was forced to throw her support to Bernie because she couldn't support Hillary.

You and I look at politics quite differently but........
I think you will understand why I would love to get more American Democrats to take a look at what
I personally think is one of the top five threats against the United States at this time.

I am worried about Soros, his buddies, China, Europe, Iran and Iran's buddies, and Russia all organizing a significant devaluation of the USA dollar.

Post #2 gets into a long range plan that could be useful in preventing serious devaluation of the USA petro - dollar?

If average ocean levels rose by eight to ten cms (3 or 4 inches) could high tide...

Both sides suffer this problem it's not a right or left issue but more a statement about America today.

    Absolutely.
Actually, it's just a fact of human nature that in a fight -- military, brawl, political argument -- we tend to pick the easiest target to go for. And on both Left and Right, there are easy targets: stupid people, arrogant people, ill-informed people, people with outlandish views. Anyone on this forum can construct a devastating caricature of a 'typical' person on the other side. And such people exist!

It's very hard to follow Gramsci's advice and, in political warfare, to take on your opponents' strongest arguments, rather than their weakest.

In any case, we've all got to live together. Each side has tens of millions of people supporting it, (most of whom, incidentally, are not like the politically-obsessed neurotics who post on on-line forums) and real politics -- that is, what the government actually does -- often has to consist of cobbled-together half-way compromises that rival politicians hope will satisfy their respective constituencies.

That's why I always have mixed feelings about sensible liberals and sensible Democrats. On the one hand, dammit, they defy my prejudices -- worse yet, they will appeal to the broad 'middle' of the poltiical spectrum. On the other hand, I'm glad that if there are going to be people on the Left making decisions that affect everyone, then let them have as many of the virtues (the ones I recognize) as possible.
