I think with freedom fo trade you can make some money and be happy in USA, and all this talk of taking money from people withtaxes or lawsuits based on subjetive stuff is kinda scary and irrational to me. Am I wrong?
Yes you are wrong. Society is willing to pay some of their money so that the government can do certain things for them that they either can't do themselves or don't care to do. Would you really be motivated to go out everyday and build a highway so you can get to work or pick up a rifle and go fight a war? You can certainly argue that the government taxes too much but some tax is ok and I bet you even agree with that. Hate crimes do exist, if you commit a crime out of hate then that qualifies. And I'm sure you'd be all for civil rights if you were the one being discriminated against. Suppose everyone could shop at the local supermarket except for you, do you think that would bother you? What if no supermarket in the State let you shop there and you had to cross State lines in order to buy a gallon of milk?
no such thing as hate crime kill a person - murder kill a (*)(*)(*) - murder plus hate crime if it's a premeditated crime (not a drunk driving death or something unintended), then it's a hate crime. Criminals target who they believe is weaker. If that's an old man, a guy they don't think can fight back, then they targetted them for a hateful reason based on some physical charectoristic. a death isn't any more tragic BECAUSE the kid was a pole-smoker.
I'm not sure why you state it that way but to place a higher value on a crime because of a label given to a group is wrong. Justice is supposed to be blind so if a black person kills a white person, or a gay person kills a heterosexual, the sentence should be the same as black on black and gay on gay crime
if I ever get robbed, I'm going to tell the media and cops I'm gay, so that way, not only will the crook go to jail for robbery, but he'll get extra time because I can just say he called me Queer while he robbed me. Of course, noone is allowed to demand I prove I'm gay for a hate crime to stick. I just have to convince a jury that this crook (who they don't have sympathy for anyways) thought I was queer. I can flamboyant it up a notch in court, walk with a twist, talk with a gay lisp (and let me tell you, I have got it down to a T" and finally I can always just cop out and say "well, I thought I was gay, turns out I like girls more.... sorry"
Might work. But you`d better be carefull. If it comes out in court that your assailant is a hair lipped, lesbian, negro hemophiliac, you could end up being the one doing time.
So you think that if people can't get or don't want money, then they can't be happy? More money, more happiness? Is the American dream all about becoming rich? What if you just want to serve the community and put out fires? You'll never get rich doing that but will you never be happy? and therefore, be a failure of an American?
