If Hamas were to surrender and release all hostages tomorrow, so you believe the IDF would stop it's bombing and killing of Gazans?

I have heard that claim made by numerous Nettenyahu supporters. I don't know if I believe it or not.

Perhaps Nettenyahu would claim there are still some rogue Hamas terrorists in Gaza and keep on going under that new reasoning?

 

The entire population is taught to kill Jews before they can walk. Why would they surrender?

If they still haven't surrendered after 90% of Hamas is dead I doubt that will ever happen anyway.

But yes, if they unconditionally surrendered and turned in all the Hamas members and supporters the bombing would stop.

Not that Hamas wouldn't use every opportunity to still try to murder women and children if given the chance though.

 

Given their history, Israel would honor any agreement they make. Surrender is extremely unlikely since hamas is run by wealthy men living far away. They don't care about the Palestinians.

Well, Hamas also needs to answer for their crimes. In a way that they pay for the harm and emotional damage that they caused to Israel and its people. But also in a way that Israel doesn't also have to answer for its part in the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinians in the resulting war.

It's not right, but it happens that when someone is harmed, the way Israel has been harmed, that they want vengeance against those who hurt them. And a quick surrender to avoid consequences isn't something that can erase all of the animosity that Hamas has built up against itself for their militant and murderous display.

It doesn't help that throughout this conflict, Hamas has said nothing except that they will take every available opportunity to repeat their violence and murder against Israel and its people without remorse.

 

Of course not. Even Biden in his "I am innocent!!!!!" press conference implied that Israel would not be agreeable to the Hamas offer to release all the hostages for a permanent cease fire.

 

Netanyahu's end game is to destroy the ability of Hamas to wage war or commit terrorist acts against Israel... a just and real goal.
Few Americans understand that is what war is all about. We had the same goal against Japan (remember Nagasaki and Hiroshima?) and Germany (have you seen the ruins of Berlin, Munich and other German cities at the end of WWII?). War isn't a game.

Don’t need to kill them all with bombs when you can make their surroundings incapable of supporting life. At this point, one of two things will happen, Palestinians will flea to Egypt or they will die of starvation and illness. Either way, Israel is committing ethnic cleansing.

Also, it’s been over 4 months. It doesn’t take 4 months to die of lack of water and food. Clearly, they are getting supplies and clearly those supplies are enough for them not to bother trying to escape, hence why they don’t.
