If you are interested in the Randy Weaver case

CBS FBI True is covering it now. This case started with a gun control issue and was one of the most disgraceful incidents involving federal law enforcement.

 

This is a very lazy and low quality post.
I realize not many people read this forum and it might not really be worth the effort to write out a longer post, but you really could have tried a little harder and put some more effort into it, like providing a link and a quick summary of the basic details of story.
You could have at least told us what you believe the significance of this story was, without expecting us to have to go find the story and read it to see what it is about.

 

I figure anyone on the gun forum who actually is invested in gun rights would have been fully aware of the incident. I wanted to alert people that this incident was being discussed 30+ years after it happened and to judge for themselves if the perspective that was mainly pro government-was accurate compared to what they recalled. You could have googled the incident in the time you took to complain about my post which was mainly designed to give people a head's up

 

You shoot a man's dog in front of him and the crap is gonna hit the fan.

 

A group of government agents descended on the forested property in a surprise raid to arrest Randy Weaver. One of them shot the family dog dead so the dog would not bark and alert the family to their presence. Weaver's 14 year old son Sammy, who happened to be outside on the property carrying a rifle, saw it and instinctively shot back at the person who had just murdered their family dog. The government agents then shot back and killed the boy, shooting him in the back as he was running away.

They had come to arrest Weaver because he did not show up to court on his scheduled trial date. The reason he didn't show up was due to an error in information he received by letter from his court appointed defense attorney about when the trial date had been scheduled.

 

Didn't they also shoot his wife on the front porch as she was holding an infant?

 

almost-she was inside the building -according to a special agent I know and trust-Lon Horiuchi was trying to shoot (which was based on an illegal order) a running Kevin harris and he missed and the bullet killed Weaver. Some conspiracy theorists claim she was the intended target because she appeared to be the actual leader of the family-a comment that Horiuchi's partner said in his interview in that show. But most agree LH could not have seen her when he was "leading" a running Harris. Larry Potts should have been imprisoned for that debacle
