the us govt must take a firm hand and not allowing *illegal and asylum seeker* to benefit like medicaid, food stamp, cash assistance and other program and that included SSI, When do we are citizen who work and pay our taxes draw the fine line and say enough is enough, If this continue we will but more into debt thank to them scamming the system
I can actually understand your stance as far as illegal immigrants are concerned, even if I don't share it at all. But you seriously want refugees, people who have left their own country because they were persecuted for political or religious reasons, to not get any welfare? How do you justify that? These people have left their country because of political or religious reasons and most of them have been tortured or at least been threatened. They have survived a terrible experience and decided that they do not have a future in their own country. Now they come to a different country, hoping to get asylum and a better life, and you want to basically let them rot? That's not very humanistic of you. Instead of hate and accusations these people need help and a safe haven. Just put yourself into their shoes for a moment and see if that doesn't change your stance.
I agree with helping those who deserve help. I would include refugees as deserving help. Deadbeats who refuse to work I don't want to help.
Well the irish have bend persecuted for thousand of years did we ask for and handout when we came to america did we ask for *political asylum or a handout* nope because we work hark in america and the same go for the european we made this country for europe by europe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Irish_sentiment http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colonial_history_of_the_United_States And as for the other *the illegal and peasant * US and other govt power give billion of aid to there same country that * asylum seeker * come from and that is my fault or and hard working american that the money is not helping the people http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_foreign_aid http://www.census.gov/compendia/statab/cats/foreign_commerce_aid/foreign_aid.html I want to read this from wiki as well http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Refugee#Asylum_seekers http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Refugee_camp and read this look at europe and compare it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asylum_in_the_United_States
We don't need any dead weight in excess of what we already have. If a refugee can read, write and communicate well in English, has a usable skill, and has value system compatible with traditional American ones [this excludes Islamics and neo-communists], then let them come if there is room for them in the economy. They do not deserve any welfare benefits. If they are lazy entitlement seekers, and won't get a job, they can be bussed to the fields to harvest crops and live in tents and worker camps---this will cut down on the number of Hispanic green cards issued, but so what? All illegal aliens, should be hunted down and booted out. They deliberatly broke our laws and are not trustworthy anyway. Perhaps a tax credit can be given to each citizen (that pays income taxes) for every illegal he snitches on and is sucessfully deported.
A refugee should be given shelter and safety from prosecution. altough, to drag one's arse half-way across the globe to the US or Sweden is rather odd though, hinting that they aren't really refugees as much as economic migrants. The US and Sweden aren't nieghbors with any war-torn country as far as I know, so I think the refugees should go to the nearest safest land and then we can send money to help maintain the refugeee camps there. much cheaper than having them live here anyways. And being a refugee means that you are entitled to protection, not citizenship. You have no right to by pass the normal requirements just because you are fleeing, and you should be sent home as soon as possible.
I find it rather questionable that "refugees" and "aslylum seekers" should have to get up and move to my country before they can get free handouts. Most of these refugees come for economic reasons, the political claims are just an excuse. I bet half of those that are approved asylum would change their minds and decide they did not really want to move if they could get free housing and free education for their children where they already are. Why are we incentivising all these immigrants to move to our countries? We are paying them to come here! I am going to end this post with a little quote from the American House representative Ron Paul: "If you subsidise something you get more of it!"
