There will be much gnashing of teeth amongst Washington warmongers and industrialists alike. Mercenaries have already been barred. Al Sadr controls the balance of power and Iran is laughing all the way to the bank. Guantanamo George is an idiot and America's shame over this illegal invasion will be complete at next year's end.
    Or what ?

"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank. " - Barack Obama Campaign Promise - October 27, 2007

Not a bloody chance of the Iraqis getting rid of American forces from Iraq.

Like syphilis once you get this antisocial disease.....you cannot get rid of it!

The green zone is there to stay....or until enough Iraqis get into this safe area TO CHANGE IT!

Why do you think the Iraqis cannot agree to a government after 10 moths and still cannot take office?
Well what happened to that referendum that by LAW the Iraqis must have????
The one promised by Bush to the UN to take place two years ago? That which would allow the 150000 American paid mercenaries the right to be in Iraq?

Nah........American influence through torture, secret prisons, the barrel of a gun or from bombs from the sky give America the permission needed for AIPAC, AIPAC senators, and corporate America to legitimise those American puppets and forces staying in Iraq!

    Aaah............... the American dream.....or..........nightmare!

Right...When the only tool you own is a hammer..pretty soon EVERYTHING starts looking like a nail.

Yes..continue the war..the ONE thing Dems and Reps agree on...
    After all, it's good "business".

Or the nail is a truth you don't want to hear?
    The hammer being the messenger.

Either way......the truth is there for all to see!
As for Business.....are you referring to the 1400 American soldiers killed in Afghanistan this year?

Or Business is that the 15000 American soldiers a year injured, limbless, unable to get medical treatment????

All is well. I was too busy trying to be "clever" by being sarcastic.
My meaning wasn't as clear as I intended.

My (awkward) point was that BOTH parties are equally despicable and NEITHER one REALLY wants us out of Iraq/Afghan.
Their big business friends are making huge profits from it. They won't LET them stop the war.

I wish more people understood that modern wars are not very profitable for defense contractors.

They make the most money through procurement. Not operations.

Do you think they do this for charitable purposes?

No profit........the word bollocks comes to mind!

Operations are for armies not firms! Firms they sell arms to both sides!

    You people are nuts.

It's like you WANT the government of Iraq to fail and for it to fall into disorder and complete chaos.

It's like you are wishing doom and gloom on the Iraqi people for no other purpose than to make Americans feel bad in internet forums.

I mean seriously. What positive benefit will come to the world from Iraq falling into disarray? What positive benefit will come to anyone from Iraq becoming a violent islamic state like Iran, or becoming an ally or protectorate of Iran?

Nope. No one here really cares if thousands or even millions of Iraqis die, as long as Americans are blamed, or look bad in some way. None of you care about the Iraqi people or you'd want whats best for them, which is a stable democratic government. Why anyone thinks an anti-american fundamentalist islamic state in Iraq would be a good thing is beyond me.

    Why?

We got what we wanted. Saddam is gone. A democracy is in his place. The only reason we have been there this long is at THEIR request.

Um...unless they ask us to stay longer like they did last time. Man, that must have just burned you people up.

And pray tell me....what did the Iraqis get from the deal .....apart from dead!
Democracy......bollocks......the American soldiers will not confine themselves to barracks as they are supposed to do!
Still today American air force is bombing the civilian Iraqi population.......their is NO army to fight, so innocent men women and children are fair game! Well they cannot defend themselves.....did you're Administration take lessons from the Zionists in this and torture!!!!!
Mmmm..... A sandwich short of a picnic.......or a penny short of a shilling come to mind when I think about the thought's you put into your submission!!

Do you have any evidence of U.S. firms selling arms to Iraqi insurgents of the Taliban?

And of course defense contractors work for a profit.

But there is a huge difference between 2 or 3 percent profit on food, fuel, munitions, and spare parts as opposed to 20 percent profit on tanks and combat aircraft.

Have you (or any of the other people complaining about defense contractors) ever actually looked up who are the major U.S. defense contractors?

    I have.

At the height of the war in Iraq it wasn't Halliburton or Lockheed Martin.

It was companies like General Mills. Because they are paid for food for millions of soldiers and their dependents.

    And foreign govts. Notably Germany.

You have presented precisely NIL evidence of Iraq expressing any desire to extend any US presence beyond the agreed point. Read the opening post again, please.

    The alternatives were worse.

Control over their own government and their nation's resources, and freedom from the oppression of a sadistic despot. For starters.

Your psychic powers alone are insufficient evidence of that.

    Source? kthx.

Since when did I say selling arms to the Taliban? Bush senr did give anti aircraft missiles to Al qeuda! But that was given! But probalbly underwriten by the American taz payer......well at least the Zionists didn't get there hand on that money!!!!!!
Of course but depends on how you define contractor!
Firstly one gallon of fuel to theatre of war......$100+!
Billions for all those mercenaries! Who have been caught destroy the fuel tankers! Who exacerbates the situation to further their wage packets!
Trillions of $ for rebuilding missing!
Corruption on a huge scale both by the US and Puppets and all for the ability of the CIA's ability to produce drugs!
The fallacy of rebuilding, Billions of dollars spend on an electric substation so far out of way they cannot get fuel to the station to get it running they cannot even get the infrastructure to get electricity to any village!!
Can you not see a recurring feature is all this?
And Cheney's Haliburton........bollocks! They did it for charity....for the greater good! Bollocks!

    I rest my case
