Is Government Readying For A Shooting War Against Gun Owners?

March 18, 2013 by Bob Livingston

    PHOTOS.COM

Gun grabbing lawmakers at both the State and Federal level continue to push forward with their anti-American, anti-2nd Amendment, anti-gun agendas, even as more individuals, State legislatures and manufacturers of weapons, weapons accessories and ammunition push back. It almost seems as if the elected class is itching for a fight.

And when one considers that the Department of Homeland Security has contracted for 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition — much of it hollow points or for use in sniper rifles — for its 55,000 armed agents, plus 2,717 armored personnel carriers and 7,000 select fire “personal defense weapons,” it seems even more apparent that’s the goal. For perspective, 1.6 billion rounds is enough to fight the Iraq war for 20 years. It’s enough to shoot every American five times. It’s 28,000 tons, or the equivalent of three guided missile destroyers. It’s almost 30,000 target practice rounds per armed agent — but of course, because they are more expensive, hollow points are not used for target practice.

These purchases have long concerned many of those who pay attention. But only the alternative media talked about it — to derision and catcalls — until Feb. 15. That’s when The Denver Post ran an article by The Associated Press about the purchases. That prompted a column by Ralph Benko at Forbes.com in which he said it’s time for a national conversation about the purchases.

More than that, it’s time for a national conversation on the link between the purchases and the ongoing push by the elected class to collapse the economy and pass legislation against the will of the people. ...the tent. As former Attorney General Janet Reno said in 1993 during discussions of the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban (AWB): “Waiting periods are only a step. Registration is only a step. The prohibition of private firearms is the goal.” Remember that the elites are content with incremental steps that I call gradualism.

No. People promoting such nonsense should be held accountable whenever some nut starts shooting or bombing in order to prevent imagined tyrrany.

No but its a good form of gun control. Which is all about making it so the poor cant get guns. What better way to do that then drive up ammo. How do you drive up ammo? Buy a (*)(*)(*)(*) ton.

Obviously all American pols are afraid of the gunmen as they are of the zionist nazis of AIPAC. Eventually, however, they are going to have to take on these masculinity-doubting pretend-cowboys or have all their children shot by nutters. Time for the population to stop allowing brainwashing perhaps?

Only mentally defective people think the government is going to wage war against you because they want your guns.

I can't back that one up either.

it has been my contention for many years that some people desire the rest to be unarmed so they can help themselves to whatever they want...ya know, moochers and welfare folks.............socialists (progressive Libs)
Is it also your contention that everyone that works should support you because you are incapable of doing it for yourself?
Or are you one of those that demands government take care of you because you simply don't want to.....

Are you one of those RWNJ's that attacks anyone that dares disagree with your ramblings, me thinks the answer is YES. And the answer to your question is NO. Besides shouldn't you be in a FEMA camp by now where are those brown shirts Obama was training to round up all the RWNJ's, hmmmmm, must be looking for the Presidents BC and school records. And you guys cannot figure out why so few are willing to listen to your "stuff", JEEEEEEEZ.

Really what rights do I want to take away from you? Better read my posts on this subject before answering, we wouldn't want to have anyone look foolish now, would we.
Clue; my post is reply to the unwarranted rabid attack on someone simply because they disagreed with your thought, that is not the best way to get other people to listen to your POV.

I was in the Army for 8 years. I guarantee I earn more and pay more taxes than you do right now.

You have no idea what it's like to be poor and need programs to ensure you have something to eat.

You are talking out of ignorance.

Put your tin foil hat on and stock up on bullets like all the other morons out there.

Youhave no idea about me. I have never taken a handout from the government. I was taught at an early age to take responsibility for myself and my family, which is obviously more than you can say.
Do you pay more than 18,000 a year in taxes?

You have no idea what it's like to pay for all the supposed poor and need programs that simply ensure druggies have money for their fixes all the while allowing them to neglect the offspring they created at my expense.

    You talk out of ignorance.

Put your rose colored glasses back on and blather for more socialist control so we can kill America faster

Too many people are living generation after generation on gov. assistance. You have people with the newest iPhones and iPads. I can remember starting my construction buisness, the year the economy crashed. I sunk everything I had and lost it all within a month, mainly do to other contractors hiring illegal immigrants and paying them close to nothing, and being able to bid jobs at a fraction of what I could. As a result, I applied for food stamps temporarly to put some food on the table, I can remember feeling so ashamed. I had to fight for it, they stonewalled me at every turn. While there I noticed everyone s dressed in nicer clothes, had all kinds of jewlery and seemed almost proud to be there. One guy stood out amongst the rest. He smelled of fine cologne, he had an expensive shoes on, nice leather jacket, expensive shades and 2 big low hanging gold chains with big gold medallions. Suddenly sickened by all this, I went outside for a smoke. Shortly after, the man came out and got into his vehicle, a new lincoln navigator with nice shiny spinning rims and a big booming sound system that shook the ground. Why the hell was this man on gov. assistance? And why, in my position, am I fighting to keep my head above water, and this well off fellow just strides in and out with ease?
Too many people are seeing assistance as a career opurtunity instead of a temporary help untill they get on there feet. It is not a coincidence tht children who grow up with assistance wind up being on assistance. This whole system needs to be revamped, some people truly need it, but a majority is either taking advantage of it, or it is all they know. Either way most people don't need it.

Unwarranted attack? You would disarm a nation and leave the law abiding Citizens unable to protect themselves, just to eliminate the rape and theft of the rest of teh BoR. You are the agressor here, not me.
    Who's Rights did I violate?
    What Right did I violate?
That SOB in the Whitehouse has already stated that he can rule without Congress. You do realize the implication of that....

You mean like citizens sitting idly by while their govt buys a MASSIVE quantity of ammo for distribution solely to domestic agencies?
