Is homosexuality "normal"?

I'll ignore you last sentence, it's so confused as to not deserve comment.
I want however to get something across to you that you won't like and probably will refuse to think about.
This rigid definition of 'homosexual' and 'heterosexual' is in and off itself an absurdity. There are graduations of all colours in between. Let's take for instance the scenario of a 'normal' heterosexual man masturbating. He may be conjuring up pictures of submissive females giving in to his every whim but many 'straight' males masturbate while focusing exclusively on their own penis. It actually turns them on just as they will often focus on their penis whilst having sex with a woman paying her little attention. Does this make them gay? No, it's just that human sexuality is a very fluid thing.
Consider also what happens when so called 100% straight men are deprived all female company such as in jail. Doesn't take them long to discover their 'homosexual side', does it? What is puzzling though is the amount of negativity addressed towards gays and lesbians by straight men. Why they spend so much time thinking about gay sex is in and of itself suspicious. Why not simply just go on doing whatever turns you on and leave everyone who doesn't fit with your biblical prohibitions alone?

Homosexuality was never something that should have gotten as much negative attention as it has. But somewhere between lack of knowledge, poor science, religion, fear and hatred... homosexuality has been turned into this THING that some people have sought to separate-out and use to socially/culturally condition people.

I agree, homosexuals should embrace their rarity instead of trying to make everyone think they are 'normal.'

I've always been more than willing to embrace my 'rarity' but on the other hand I've met enough fairies who were so damned ordinary and 'normal' they were a complete bore. This is where the media comes into the equation. Until very recently they've made a point of emphasising gay and lesbian 'rarity' to the point of absurd stereotype. Very comforting for most straights because it reinforces the delusion 'Ya can always pick em' Wrong kiddies, that buddy of yours you played baseball with who's married with five children could be bashing the beat for all you know. Consider this, Sydney and Newcastle University conducted a survey during the early days of the AIDS epidemic of men who obtained sex in public places, parks, toilets etc. Fully 65% were married, of that 65% 20% didn't think of themselves as gay. Reminds me of an occasion when I was eight inches up a bloke (guy in the US) only to be told. "I don't kiss blokes, I"m not a poof"!! Go figure if that's normal or not.

As for the title question, no, homosexuality is not normal because most people tend to have a preference for the opposite sex. But who the fucк cares?

 

I'm surprised that you would say that since ideas can be a huge catalyst for change, though I probably shouldn't assume anything based on someone's screen name. Also, normal is so relative that I actually hate using that word, though you did give me an excuse to post one of my favorite memes.

 

You aren't helping. What you suggest, is NOT the definition of "normal"; it really isn't.

 

Unless you are "a setting" right on the norm you are abnormal - by definition.

 

I'm amazed to have survived into my 70's with a 'disorder' I wasn't aware of.

 

Well I don't think many people fit that setting, thus abnormal is the norm.
