Headline in yesterday's (Wed Aug 31) Idaho Statesman: "Select tech workers in high demand" Basically the article said that high-tech workers with the right skills that work is looking for them. Now, can a recent high school graduate or someone looking for a job be better off going to a "trade school" or attending a college or university and obtaining a 4 year degree that has little or no demand in today's workplace. Is it better to say "I have a degree from (insert name of high priced institution here)" or "I completed (insert trade school field here) and have a job. Another thought, If you receive the necessary skills to excel in your desired professional or non-professional field what does the extraneous courses and years really do for you? Maybe it is time for a change in our education system.
