One last time for the passengers on the short bus-- the ability to have children is NOT a prerequisite for having a marriage license issued to you.

If a heterosexual relationship doesn't produce children does it fall into the 'abnormal' category too?

No the prerequisite is being a man and a woman. That is what marriage is. If you want to change it I think there should have to be a federal law change just like all the other changes in society.

    LOL.

That's your religious definition of marriage.

Change in what defines marriage legally is coming and coming quickly so you may want to get out of the way so you won't be demolished.

Marriage is a state sanctioned religious institution. What is a issue is the exclusivity of the state's sanction of heterosexual-bilateral marriage.
We heterosexuals have a lot of nerve claiming exclusive right to something that we have mostly abandoned.
I don't give a wit whether of not the religious institutions that I hold sacred are or are not sanctioned by the state.
    Let Ceasar have what's Ceasar's.

If the majority of people in your neighborhood abandon their homes, don't be surprised if others move in.

Wrong. People can get married at city hall and not step inside a church and it's all legal.

No one is forcing churches to perform SSM although some denominations already do.

Please don't embarass yourself by arguing that marriage was not a religious institution long before it was a civil institution.

On the other hand, by virtue of abandonment of the religious, it is predominantly a civil institution now.
As I wrote above, let Ceasar have what's Ceasar's.

    Abandonment of religion?

Wow do you want me to throw you a pity party?

We'll agree to disagree about whether marriage was a religious institution before it was a civil institution because you don't seem like the time who wants to see a perspective different from your own.

I will reserve judgement on the hisory of marriage in the event that additional historical facts become available.
However, at this time, I am left to believe that, historically, religious marriage out dates and out numbers civil marriage significantly.

No I am going to speak truth to power and say that gay marriage is abnormal. Because that is the truth. Not religion truth but science truth.

If someone says, having sex with someone of the same sex is a sin, does this make them homophobic, or a bigot? No.

Such a person simply has different views on sexual morality than the person calling them homophobic or a bigot, so on what basis are the people calling them homophobes and bigots doing so? It's simply because they want to; such people can't cope with the fact that other people don't have the same views on sex as they do, and then they feel justified in leveling all sorts of buzz word insults against them to try and demean them, and possible destroy their reputations, or ruin their careers. We see this all the time in the media.

If the same person believes premarital sex is a sin, does that also make them a bigot against such people, or premaritalsexophobic?

How absurd is this behavior? "Oh you don't agree with my views on sex!?" "Well you're a racistsexisthomophobebigotidiot! We want you fired and name dragged through the mud!"

When liberal-progressives attack Christians and others for their views on sexual morality, they sound even more self-righteous than certain religious people they bash for appearing self-righteous. Not everyone one agrees with your moral views, particularly on sex, get over it. The classically liberal notion of tolerance not only embraced freedom of speech protected in the eyes of the government, but also embraced people being able to express their views without the people within the society turning on them and ostracizing them just for what they believed.

Cause and effect. Making excuses the old fashioned way.

Does believing homosexuality is a sin make someone homophobic, or does being homophobic make them think homosexuality is a sin?

Fifty years ago we asked the same question, with some minor changes.

Does believeing negroes are less worthy than white people make someone a racist, or does being a racist make someone think negroes are less worthy than white people?

It does not matter which came first, the belief, or the action. Those people were racists, and the people today are homophobic. The excuses do not count for squat. You are what you are.

And blaming some god for one's own beliefs is just pure cowardice. Man up. At least have the guts to say "I hate homos! Period!"

You will still be looked down on for the belief, but may gain some small respect for the honesty.
