I was thinking I wonder if the menstrual cycle could account for the fact that no woman has been president and not many women have been CEO's of fortune 500 companies. For example, If for one week every month a woman is gauranteed to be ill, could this be enough of a disadvantage in the extremely competative worlds of politics and business to account for this discrepancy?

In other words, it's not sexism that accounts for the fact that no women has been president and not many women have been CEO's of fortune 500 companies, it's the result of a biological disadvantage due to a woman's menstrual cycle?

You may be overestimating cramps and moodiness. Plus, women are different in terms of the severity of it all, and how they handle it.

My dear departed Mum never complained once.

My ex wife though...a completely different story there, but she never missed work because of it.

In conclusion...no...I don't think it's the reason a woman hasn't become President. It's chauvanism that has prevented it...mostly

He is just mad that he could not trade a menstrual cycle for a Harley.

A male's sex drive is also hormonal and causes problems as well (See Bill Clinton) so, I don't see a woman's menstrual cycle as a problem it's just that pregnancy and child bearing/raising are (today more than ever) considered to be more of a hinderance than a beneficial human achievement/attribute.

    What misogynists will never consider:

All women are not alike and that includes their periods which vary with each individual woman from almost no symptoms at all ( not even mood swings) to debilitating cramps, stress, headaches, leg aches and excessive flow. ( I know that will make misogists delirious with joy)

    AND

Women throughout history have accomplished just as much as men DESPITE having their periods, being pregnant and giving birth....and sexual prejudice...

So you're saying some women are at a biological disadvantage due to their menstrual cycles and some women are at more of a disadvantage than others???

Calling someone a mysoginist for asking a question is an example of anti-intellectualism. Anti-intellectualism is one reason the term femininazi is not just fair, it's accurate.

Misogyns dont consider much of anything but their own problems, which they try to take out on women.

Women make up over 50% of the voting population. So are you saying the reason a women has not been president is because of chauvanism of women against women???

    No, I meant historical chauvanism.

You know, that whole time period between the dawn of man and 1965.

Telling a man, "he need to get laid more," is saying a man’s value is based on his value to women? This is the same thing as objectifying a woman by saying a woman's value is based on her value to men? This is something feminists have complained about for eons?
Since this is something that’s OK for feminists to do but it’s something that’s not OK for men to do, your post is just another example of female privilege and matriarchy?

Moreover, since you don't have a source, your claims are obviously opinions and not facts.

A man thinking and wondering about a woman's menstrual cycle....

    LOL!!

Clearly doesn't have enough men's business to be thinking and wondering about...

Got to love (not really) these men obsessed with looking everywhere to find some scrap of anything to bash away at women with.

    Feminism :strong:

Some sorry specimens posting here, for sure.
They may even wonder why they are held in disdain and contempt by women.

If they were all like that, we'd have to get really serious about parthenogenesis!

Fortunately, they're just a just a small buncha pusillanimous (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)cats, hiding behind a computer to attack women!

Good to know there still are some real men, isnt it?

ps sheesh, if Spiro T can say it on national TV, why isnt it good enough for PF?

At the time I responded, I had no way of knowing if you're a man or a woman.

    I haven't objectified anyone.

Caring less and less with every sentence. :blankstare:

Any man who doesn't take into consideration his woman's menstrual cycle could be in grave danger.

"Twenty-nine-year-old barmaid Sandie Craddock got off a murder charge after stabbing another worker to death when she pleaded diminished responsibility because of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS). The judge accepted the argument that PMS was a mitigating factor in the incident because it turned Craddock "into a raging animal each month".

I've come to the conclusion they're children. Real men get on with it. Have jobs, commitments, love life and women... and get on with it.

Men whining about women... and women's menstrual cycles... are clowns.

    # Send in the clowns...
    # Don't bother they're here...

One thing you can bet, which utmost certainty, is that our hero whiners here would
not remotely be man enough for women like these..

I have an image of our heros shriveling like salted slugs as the women look on in amazed revulsion.
