    Is the world post-theistic?
in the 19th century, liberal and social democratic parties were created
therefore, god is not needed to rule people
everyone can come up with their own philosophy

The Being of Light of near death experience fame who reviews our lives with us when we have a brush with death.....
and of course presumably when we fully die.....

has a lot of advantages over dogma that is based on translations that are quite old.

Personally I now understand the Jewish and Christian scriptures in a whole new light having studied these amazing and encouraging accounts.

That would be ideal, but it kinda seems like there's an effort to replace worship of 'god' with worship of government going on. Collectivism isn't functionally different from feudalism after all, just typically implemented on a bigger scale.

Funny, this has been discussed a lot. Often hear people say today "that is my truth". That is secular humanism defined. Everyone has their own truth. Sorry. that would mean there is over 2 billion truths. No, there is only one Truth. Not many are concerned enough outside themselves to look for it.

Do you find it odd that you feel you are the only one that knows what the “truth” is?

How is your truth anymore valid than anyone else’s truth?

This is the major problem I have with religions, they seem incapable of allowing differentiating beliefs under the guise that they are the only right one and thus there is zero ability to negotiate with them.

My truth is that if there is a creator or creators — only an extremely arrogant person would believe they could speak of them.

I don’t think our mortal minds could comprehend

That is an interesting point. Marx said the capitalism was the progressive next stage from feudalism, yet communism, in practice, is really another form of feudalistic slavery to the state.

History teaches us that there are many ways to get to the right place. We might not like the economic system in Vietnam, for example, but as long as the government there leaves their neighbors alone and is not oppressing its people, why should the U.S. try to overthrow it?

The same goes for religion. Faith should be a private matter. Freedom of religion has be a concept which has worked well in the U.S. There is also something to be said for freedom from religion. No one sect should become the state religion, and no religious dogma should become a national law.

I think a person have to first be religious to understand.
In many areas of the world people act religious but are just going through the motions to avoid trouble.
In free societies, you either have it or you don't, and many get into it later in life. People generally don't care whether you are aren't, and you probably won't know them unless you see them at mass or they tell you.
So religion will do for those what it has always done - create a unique connection to a force beyond yourself, regardless of what others think.
