Trump, on eve of fundraiser with Anheuser-Busch lobbyist, defends company Former President Donald Trump offered an olive branch to Anheuser-Busch on Tuesday, issuing a post on his social media platform calling on conservatives to drop their opposition to the besieged beer company. “The Bud Light ad was a mistake of epic proportions, and for that a very big price was paid, but Anheuser-Busch is not a Woke company,” Trump wrote. “Anheuser-Busch is a Great American Brand that perhaps deserves a Second Chance? What do you think? Perhaps, instead, we should be going after those companies that are looking to DESTROY AMERICA!” Trump’s post on Truth Social represents a major attempt at deescalation in a long-simmering feud between the political movement the former president leads and the mega corporation since April 2023, when it came under fire for a sponsored post with a transgender influencer. Trump’s message also comes as a top Republican lobbyist for the company is set to host a fundraiser for the former president next month, with some tickets going at $10,000 each. https://www.politico.com/news/2024/02/06/donald-trump-bud-light-fundraiser-00140009 Next time a company is boycotted it will know what to do. Give Trump some payoff money. Once a grifter always a grifter. Don issued an EO to ban Tik Tok as prez. Now he thinks it needs protection. Want to find out why?
Trump was already a national security threat as a result of his company making money from biz being done with foreign governments. Especially given how very important his wealth is to him. It's only worse now that he is in financial trouble.
Thanks for this info. I was on the fence but now I'm definitely voting Trump. This guy isn't afraid to NOT double down on bad judgement. You will NEVER see a democrat ever reversing any crappy policy they implement. Trump is more laid back on abortion than the typical conservative, he doesn't want to ban tik tok. You HATE it because he isn't as extreme or partisan as you'd like him to be. Not good for your narrative eh??
So the MAGA anti-gay campaign had a price. It took a $10,000 campaign to buy the MAGA "conscience" against Ms. Mulvaney and Bud Light. Buying the conscience of MAGA-world may be cheap. But if Trump becomes President, what else will be for sale? Say, for example, that Boeing finds it too expensive to fix their planes. A couple of million thrown in Trump's direction will solve any complaints by the FAA. You might want to think twice about getting on a plane after that, though. The sky's the limit: drug companies, any special interest group, foreign powers... they now know Trump can be bought.
The most ridiculous part of this post is that you were ever on the fence. But to think that we believe that evidence that what MAGAs believes is up for sale is what drove you towards voting for Trump is pretty hilarious too. What does that have to do with... Oh... I see. You didn't even READ the OP. I'll dumb it down for you: Trump hates transgenders promoting Bud light, the Bud light people bribed him, so he stopped hating them. Maybe if immigrants pony up a few thousand, they could also get Trump to stop hating them. MAGAs will just go along with it. They will say "now I'm definitely voting Trump" every single time.
Its obvious you folks would bash him for jumping on the bud light hate wagon just as much as not jumping on it. Trump could cure cancer and you people would find a way to twist it SAD!
Just as Repubs treat Biden the same way. BOTH sides act this way towards the guy on the other side of the political aisle. Anyone who says otherwise is a hyper-partisan sheep.
I don't want a President who can be bought. Period! But to you, being up for sale means "now I'm definitely voting Trump"
That's very confusing sir. Do you mean "I don't want a president that can be bought unless they are bought by Ukraine"? That would make much more sense! Cheers
I don't want a President who can be bought... period! You, on the other hand, stated that the REASON you would vote for Trump is that he can be bought. So at this point you have two options. You could say "I didn't read the OP and I WON'T vote for Trump because he can be bribed" or "I did read the OP and it makes no difference because I'd vote for Trump even if he stood in the middle of 5th Ave and shot somebody". We know the latter is your actual position, so no need to bother responding.
Anybody wondering why it's REPUBLICANS who always say that? All their lives they've been voting for politicians they KNOW are corrupt. It's all they see. And projection is their only resource.
This statement is how followers of corrupt politicians justify their leaders. It's their way of justifying corruption. They say to themselves: "if all politicians are corrupt, then it's ok that the politician I like is corrupt." And, of course, it's not true. Even people who own up to the fact that they're supporting a corrupt politician are more honest than those who try to blindly water-down corruption.
Who's "we"? Why do YOU think YOU speak for OTHER people? Could it have to do with being part of a cult political party perhaps? I'd like to think many Republicans share same views as me, but I don't speak for them. That is one of the saddest things I've seen on here. lol
Where did I say any corruption is ok? Oh right, I didn't. You're making a straw man argument. See, I don't like ANY politician. Never have...never will. So keep your projections to yourself.
You're saying it's normal. The difference between that and saying it's "ok" is very tenuous. Corrupt politicians would love for you to believe that ALL politicians are like them. They're NOT! I know it takes a bit of effort to discern politicians who are not corrupt from those who are. But making that effort is the ONLY way to stop the corrupt ones. There ARE corrupt politicians in both parties. There are also honest politicians in both parties. If you're superficial or if you want to justify corruption you'll just throw your arms up in the air and exclaim "all politicians are corrupt!". There is absolutely NO evidence of that. People who don't operate based on evidence are a huge part of the problem.
Right! Only the lefty ones are good politicians. We get it man. Your party can do no wrong. They are such a shining beacon of morality. Look at how much compassion they handled the Laken Riley incident with. Good people! Tremendous people!
Exactly! Binary thinking and projection are the traits of people who follow corrupt politicians. Please don't ever say that. Or, if you do, make sure to exclude yourself from the "we" part.
