Israeli doctor in Italy: We no longer help those over 60

I guess those over 60 don't need to pay taxes anymore as the taxes they paid on Health Care is doing nothing for them now. Italy didn't close travel to Covid affected countries soon enough. They didn't restrict travel within their borders soon enough. They didn't shut down businesses the way Obama/Biden failed to do in 2010 with H1N1 that cost 12,000+ Americans their lives. Of course their already strained Government run Health Care was quickly overwhelmed....You get what you pay for. Tell the families of the 4,825 confirmed dead at least they got their Health Care cheaper.

Doing that would totally crash their economy. Trump created a robust economy out of the ashes of the Biden/Obama stagnant malaise, one that will bounce back quickly from the damage China's Covid-19 did to our economy. Thank you President Trump.

Italy wrote a check they can't cash. Looks like we will be the bank ONCE AGAIN.

Screw Israeli doctors in Italy.

 

No country does more than the U.S. I can’t remember the last time China or Russia assisted significantly in an earthquake, hurricane, tornado, or tsunami.

But the aid from Russia and China is welcome.

I won't argue with you that the US probably gives out more aid than any other country. I am just saying it is not only the US. I don't follow Russia or China international actions closely but I know China sends a fair bit of aid to Africa. It may be a bit self serving because China has a lot of long term plans open manufacturing and production in Africa but the US has offered aid for similar reasons in the past.

 

It wasn't a hate post but a defensive post being a senior citizen myself. It's kind of shocking that doctors wouldn't treat me because I'm old. That's what I call age discrimination.

This is a thread that will attract anti-Semites. The title makes it sound as though Israel has said that Israel won't treat those over 60 (that's the way to get people to hate Israel), and then in the message it makes it sound as though Israelis doctors have made the decision not to treat those over 60 in Italy. All it is a doctor reporting that Italy is being forced to make horrible decisions, and the doctor happens to be Israeli.

 

The Chinese initiative is called Belt & Road. It's their way of causing desperate developing countries to become indebted to them in a way that they cannot repay thus making subservient to the CCP.

 

If what this doctor says is true, the irony is that the same thing will happen in the US in the next 3-4 weeks.

Cases are increasing very rapidly and hospitals will be overwhelmed.

It's impossible for all the elderly to have access to a respiratory machine.

 

I thought this virus is no worse than the flu.

I didn't see it, but in a triage situation you got to do what you got to do. It is right and just.

And in another time, another pandemic, a new virulent virus, it could be worse where children are all hit the worst and all dying regardless of treatment, and the physicians in charge have to let them die to spare teenagers and young adults. That also would be right and just.

 

Pretty much all transmission now is within the US and has nothing to do with travel anymore. Italy locked down their country, too late, I have to say. Will Trump be willing to do the same? From what I hear, he is considering to let lockdowns expire after 15 days, which is the exact opposite of what is needed. He still hasn't got it yet. He is still thinking about the economy only, not about the human toll.
