I live here with seven million Jews and Israeli Arabs and I hardly say I had a tiff with any. I think the tide is at last turning Bishadi. Importantly, world opinion has changed quite dramatically since Cast Lead; and the childlike penchant of Israeli politicians to use the same emotive mechanisms over and over again in order to avoid censure; is now from a moral standpoint, at least, having the opposite effect. Tiny steps I know, but effective. It has taken a very long time for the world at large to recognise the nature of the beast; and said world has tolerated these governments of psychopathic children for far too long. This I know does not immediately help, regarding the intolerable position of the Palestinian people, but as you already mentioned, over half a century of subjugation, with little or no response from humanity, so justice won't be terribly quick. The main aspect to bear in mind is that the Israeli Administration is now sabotaging their own attempts at cultivating their preferred outcome, as they will never change their attitudes and behaviors (which in the long term, have actually failed them in the first place and I personally believe that history will one day demonstrate this) and even their most ardent supporters now recognise it; so sooner, rather than later they will have to distance themselves. My only consolation is; that apparently, doctors have found that Ariel Sharon has locked in syndrome; which means he is fully aware but unable to respond in any way or form. What a terrible place to be? I cannot think of a more just punishment for a monster.
