Former FBI director James Comey made a quiet visit to The New York Times on Thursday, one of few public outings since he admitted leaking stories to the newspaper about President Trump before the Senate Intelligence Committee on June 8.

Comey kept his sunglasses on and his gaze forward as he marched through the front entrance of the Times Square office building which houses the publication. He was accompanied by his wife Patrice Failor who also wore sunglasses.

Unmistakable as he towered over the crowds in a crisp navy suit and tie on one of the warmest days of the year, Comey drew second-glances from some stunned by-passers.

It was a timely visit, coming just a few weeks after the president's suggestion that he may be responsible for more leaks about the administration since being fired on May 9.

    Lima Oscar Lima!

Trump says no tape and Comey instantly finds and drops off more Magic Memos. I just cannot wait to see the funny papers tomorrow. "Trump offers the Order of Lenin to Comey if investigation quashed, Memo reveals"

Seriously, if something bordering a he said she said one on one revelation between Comey and Trump I'm going to scream foul.

    Cheers

Nothing good can be said about this, nothing. My guess is has a thumb drive in one of his pockets, but now that it's out that he went to the Times rather then the Times meeting him at his hotel, every leak and dirty story they print will be thought of as coming from Comey. You would think a former FBI director would know better than to walk into the Times building, especially during these times.

It's probably just an interview for a lengthy piece about Comey's career at the FBI etc. Comey rehabilitation.

I really doubt Comey would "leak" investigation docs at this time, flagrantly.

    Cheers

Yea, it's probably an interview. I doubt he is going to turn over the memos since no one but the investigators currently have the memos.

He can write more 'contemporaneous' memos as needed, ya' know like the other one that was leaked, testified about but never seen.

    Magic Memos.

It's a good thing that he did write those memos since it combined with Trump's attempt at witness manipulation and resulted in the appointment of Robert Mueller.

Magic Memo = Self serving creation of dubious provenance.

No. You need to just keep taking everything Trump says as Gospel. He needs his devoted followers and water carriers, or he'll cry and melt down on Twitter because his devotees aren't blindly following him anymore.

They are also allowed in court proceedings due to its inherent trustworthiness.

He could, but he really doesn't seem the type. Looks like an overly straight man. If he were a slicker weasel-type, I don't think he'd found himself where he is today.
