All these objections are a result of conditioning. In some cultures, these things aren't left to privacy and people are not offended by them. I agree that it's a health hazard to have people defecating wherever they please, but the privacy aspect has nothing to do with health and all to do with our conditioned desire to have privacy and not seeing others do their business. Even your reference to masturbation as "decadence" says a lot about how you were conditioned to feel about it. It's a perfectly natural function and many cultures have and do see it as healthy and necessary. And yet, some people find it revolting, and those people are a significant percentage of the population of the US. If you were in India complaining about public defecation, you'd be seen as ignorant. Were you in Japan and farting, that would be acceptable, but openly blowing one's nose is considered very rude, almost like you'd view someone peeing in public. The fact is, it's you that's ignorant and uncompromising when it comes to the values of many of the people around you. Perhaps you should acknowledge that cultural conditions plays a huge role in how you see things just as much as it plays a role in how others see things. Breast feeding may be no big deal to you and I, but it's a big deal to others and to make the change to a more enlightened view takes some time (as it does for sexual behaviors as well.)
So you don't control your eyeballs? You don't control your feet or neck muscles? THEY are in NO way "making you watch"! It is the pervert's perversion that they seem to be unable to look away, not the feeding mothers!. The mother are NOT asking anyone to leave, they aren't asking anyone to stand nearby and ogle. They wish to FEED THEIR BABIES. And is NOT like we don't see 90% or more of breasts EVERYWHERE in public, in advertisements, on the sides of buses, on the street, on TV, in the mall, Sheesh, this complaint is simply absurd. This is the ONE time the breast is being used for its INTENDED purpose, and NOT to sell a CAR or some other product!! Megan McCain! [facepalm] puhhlease! You don't advertise a time and date to make a public spectacle of yourself with the expectation that people will "look away" They deserve to have a group of teenage boys show up laughing and pointing and whipping out their iphones and start videoing and posting to YouTube.
Actually, a sexual response to exposed breasts is normal in our culture, not a perversion, thus the adds you posted. Knowing the attraction to breasts that most men have in our culture, what do you expect to happen when a bunch of women announce that they will bare their breasts in the middle of a mall? Just look at what happens at Mardi Gras if you want an idea. If they don't want men to stare and probably take pictures, they shouldn't bare their breasts in public.
