    So this guy was an assassin from Mombassa... He was imprisoned for plotting to kill Khadafi.

    I don't know, but he has charizma like other Al qaedists. not exactly sure what they are fighting for though: Gadhaffi supplied his people with free education, health care etc.

    Khadafi was a bad actor.. slightly mad as well.

    More to the point, he's gone and won't be running Libya.

    He was about 82 years old? I wish the best for Libyans, but I strongly suspect they will wake up crying.

    Al-Qaeda does invoke the term "freedom." Rather than freedom from government or religious persecution, Al-Qaeda seeks freedom from secularism and from western influence. Ironically, they don't advocate for many forms of personal freedom.

    No he's not.. He was born in 1942.. and has ruled Libya since he was a 27 year old Army Captain.
