I am surprised: I thought Qadaffi had more supporters left than appears to be the case. Of course the African mercenaries were going to throw in the towel: they get paid to fight, not to die fighting. The security types with blood on their hands should have put up more of a fight and I guess the remaining military units were rotting away from within.

I won't mind if they drag him out in the street and hang him. Not that I'm suggesting it, mind you.

Route One; Deny that the West supported/supplied the rebels and deny that the West will commit to further military involvement.

    Route Two; Secure the oil.

Ok, so Khaddafi's Libya is done. The next prolonged stage for Libya should reflect something of Bush's post-Saddam Iraq. Oh, bright days ahead. Let's also hope that al-Qaeda won't claim their share of Khaddafi's leftover weapon stockpiles. So who's next on NATO's hit list? Probably the same leaders who just yesterday exchanged embraces with the equivalents of Bush, Blair and Sarkozy.

Is anyone prepared to congratulate NATO and the supporting governments such as PM Camerone and Obama etc etc, now that the rebels have been supported to success?

Or are most of you feeling too churlish?

What is called the "storm of Tripoli," in fact, of course, a landing operation of French, British, and (probably) American special forces. One of the main goals - it is possible to say - were the leaders of Defense and the leaders of the legitimate authority. Once this is admitted even by prominent and very cautious representative of the administration of the Russian Federation, Mr. Kosachev, dispute this fact is impossible.

After a serious panic in Tripoli, restored order with respect to the forces of brigade Khamis al-Qaddafi, and who came to his call volunteers, as citizens and residents of rural areas. In fact, the troops performed their mission: to perpetrate the capital of the maximum bloodshed and gave the picture. Now pockets of rebellion seems to be isolated.

Rumors about the capture of Mohammed and Saif al-Islam al-Gaddafi, at least for the moment, should be considered fiction, neither one nor the other has not yet shown on TV, but about Muhammad at all became aware that an attempt to capture it (a group of Special Forces on a tip from correspondents Al Jazeera, who took him for an interview) had failed. In general, as it turned out, the roof of correspondents of "civilized" media (CNN about it is known exactly) based Western intelligence agents and aviakorrektirovschiki.

The Colonel is alive and with Khamis collects militia. At dawn, he - in his helmet and with a gun - found on Green Square, where, as it turns out, the rebels did not exist.

All the "civilized" journalists gave slightly reversed in the sense of fanfare. All of the leaders of "civilized" world, from Juppe and Obama to Rasmussen and Merkel are silent in a rag unanimously, without haste to declare victory, and if something out loud and express, the only requirement to the Colonel, "to leave his post." That is, there is no victory. Troopers s.hits and failed.

If past events are anything to go by, it will be another US supported corrupt government.

Absolutely; and a corrupt, unstable government gives the US an excuse to stick around. I am, however, optimistic. Iraq and Afghanistan had 'democracy' imposed on them. Libya is different in that its people called for help.

Put up more ight ? Hmmm. good advice from a keyeboard warrior fighting with his little mouse .

-Good for the rebels! Pehaps so, but I doubt it'll tune out to be much good for Libya , when the power struggle begins with the rag-bag /fragmented, revolting, mob come to face lawless situation , riddled with tribal rivalry + a likely breakup of Libya.

A "democracy " ? hmmm I wont be holding my breadth.

    cheers.

Typical big-mouth dictator. Talk big, then run and hide when the fighting get's too close. Look how we found Saddam, looking like a homeless drifter in a spiderhole. My guess is the Libyans will find Gaddafi in the same condition.

If they know they aren't getting paid, they aren't going to put their lives on the line.

Rumors are flying... naturally. But, apparently Khadafi has applied for sanctuary in South Africa.

Elsewhere I asked Izverg for his source for this so-called information. I then went on the net and did several searches for any hint of such activities. Even Qadaffi's official media have said nothing of the sort (although they have driven back rebels in three key areas, of course). Izverg should be ashamed of himself for his blatant disregard for the truth. He should put up (his source) or shut up!

" Look how we found "

Where do you get the "WE" from ? Coz you perhaps happen to be an american ?

Sounds like another "big-mouth" - "Big-talk " American Keyboard soldier " whose only heat of battle is from his pooter + little mouse.

    Gawd bless Am-Erika.
