The 9 years wasn't just for lying to Congress. The court considered it a no-no that threats were made against witnesses.

Authoritarian’s will be authoritarians until they find themselves in jail because someone doesn’t like the way they look.

It should be obvious by now that Trumper’s are way in over their head. Hollowed out creatures overcome by fear. Mustering up empathy for the lost is getting harder by the day though I’m not a quitter.

Rapists get an average of 4 years. Murderers average 7 years.

But if you're a friend of Trump, you get targeted for selective prosecution and you get 9 years for a non-violent crime, even if you' re elderly with a clean record.

And the one witness denied there was a threat.

    I question your data:

“Persons sentenced for murder or non-negligent manslaughter served an average of 15 years in state prison before their initial release.”

“A study made by the U.S. Department of Justice of prison releases in 1992, involving about 80 percent of the prison population, found that the average sentence for convicted rapists was 9.8 years,”

U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Statistics

    also note that:
9 years was the top recommendation for 5 indictments of lying, one indictment of witness tampering and one indictment of obstruction
the 15 year murder average also includes manslaughter
Stone was convicted in an open trial
a recommendation (7=10 years) is not a sentence, that is up to a judge

But if you are not a friend of Trump it would not matter would it.

My bad. Instead of saying the average sentence for rape is 4 years and for murder is 7 years, I should have said those were the average times actually served in prison for those crimes.

According to the US Department of Justice the average time spent in Prison before release for murder and manslaughter is 15.0 years and for rape is 6.2 years.

The penalty for perjury is up to 5 years for each count

The penalty for witness tampering is up to 20 years for witness tampering (more if related to terrorism)

The penalty for obstruction is up to 5 years

We will have to see how the judge rules.

I agree with your stats on murder and rape. I stand corrected.

By a tainted jury headed by an anti Trump zealot and containing at lest one and possibly two other Democratic party activists. Real fair trial. And if he had been a Democrat or not a friend of Trump he would never have been charged. See Andrew McCabe who lied to congress and to the FISA court and isn't going to be charged with anything
