What a coincidence, eh? Within a day of Griner’s release, we get a bomber we’ve been looking for for almost 35 years.

I’m starting to see the wisdom in this trade. Wtg, Joe! Holy crap! It’s the first time I’m praising Biden for doing anything more than not being Trump.

The person being sentenced to prison in this story was only criminally charged because they admitted in a recorded video interview to Libyan authorities, after the fall of Gadhafi's government, that the previous government (under Gadhafi) had ordered him to be involved in the attack.

In the interview, he claimed that the order came from the Libyan intelligence services, and that afterwards Gadhafi personally thanked him and other members of the team involved in the attack.

We still cannot know for sure whether he was telling the truth about everything in that interview.

He could have lied because he was trying to make the former Libyan government look bad and didn't expect the video would end up in the hands of the American authorities, or didn't think American or British authorities would go after him simply for admitting his actions in that interview.

Or maybe it could even be possible that he was forced to make that interview under threats.

Shouldn't someone be punished less for a crime if they were only punished because they voluntarily admitted to the crime? There is no other real evidence that he was involved, other than his own words that he gave.

And even though it's only a hypothetical, here's something else to consider. What if he was only ordered to make the bomb, by his government, but was not given any knowledge of how it would be used?

It seems obvious he would not be guilty then.
It is only knowledge of how his role would contribute to a murder attack that attached guilt to his actions.

Similar to how if someone asks you to deliver a letter for them to someone else. That does not make you in any way guilty, unless you are also told that letter contains the name of someone that person is being asked to kill.

What's the connection to Griner, Russia, or anything you said in the OP? Did Russia turn him over ? Nothing in the link supports the OP curious where you got this information.

We've been looking for him for 30 years. We find him one day within Griner's release? Color me skeptical.

There's no information on that. Double weird.
