Watching Andy Coulson's appearance in the Leveson enquiry today, I was left wondering about a couple of unexpected points and not concentrating on what Coulson had to say.

Instead, I was listening to that strange man Leveson and wondering why he overtly suggested the investigation is beneath him and implies he views the whole inquiry as a waste of planet time.

One wonders why he was chosen to lead it in the first place, if that is his approach. He is not taking it in any way seriously and there was never any prospect of a worthwhile result based on his activities.

Are you sure that you did not nod off after a few lunch time snorts ? Dreaming .

I have seen no such comment anywhere and in fairness I think we need a reasonable link .Normally I ignore the Guardian but will make an exception as I know how much they enjoy trivia .

It's quite hard to link when you are watching it live on the box. I happened to come in here and see the actual enquiry under way when Andy Coulson was interviewed. The guy putting the questions was sharp, but he was interrupted at intervals by questions from Leveson, who said and I'm paraphrasing to give the gist but -

I realise it's absolute nonsense but I must entertain myself, Mr Coulson..:omg:

    ...and

he hoped this debacle would be over soon so that he would be allowed to go back to addressing serious worthwhile legal matters.

The impression was, he was coerced into chairing it and does not agree it is even worth investigating.

Clearly a man of sense and wisdom .
He knows it is academic -- mainstream media have been cleverly turned into the equivalent of ITV and the Sun .
And now that the gullible Middle Class has been captured , does anything matter any more ?
Lord Loveasin has been bought off .
