Louisiana congressman-elect Luke Letlow dead from COVID-19 at 41

Louisiana Rep.-elect Luke Letlow died on Tuesday night from complications related to the coronavirus. He was 41.

A family friend confirmed to the Monroe News-Star that Letlow died in the intensive care unit at Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport, where he had been hospitalized with COVID-19 since Dec. 23.

Condolences to his family, I think he had small kids.
But....his twitter is filled with pics of him maskless in LA campaigning with dozens of maskless voters. He also opposed govt shutdowns to keep people like him alive. RIP Luke, hope your story wakes up some people.

 

This is too tragic to feel sadness. I do hope it wakes someone up. Anyone.

What happens to his seat?

 

This reminds me a little of Vietnam. The wrong people are dying and nobody is showing those horrific images of old people in nursing homes. We are not feeling this. Until we learn more about politicians, celebrities and athletes who die, we won't get it. This man was not over 60. He was 41 years old, with the best medical in this country at his fingertips.

The article said he was supposed to take office Sunday. Looks like the district will be without representation for a short time.

Yes, people die — that is the natural cycle of the cell — and they do so for a myriad of reasons, what people shouldn’t be dying of is something that “ON NOVEMBER 4th, YOU WON’T BE HEARING SO MUCH ABOUT IT ANYMORE.” or something that was supposed to “magically, all of a sudden go away and disappear” after the election.

I was hoping one of the red hats could use their supreme interpretation skills and translate what the cult leader actually meant — and why they are willing to die to prove him wrong.

 

Indeed. It seems people were willing to follow trump to the grave. There was a significant change in his postings as he revealed he had it — it suddenly became serious after he largely ignored it.

There is a word for people that are willing to ignore an issue and sacrifice others until it impacts them.

I feel for his children. It is a sad event to lose a parent.

Now don’t you think we SHOULD do better dealing with a pandemic than a century ago?

 

I am in a low risk category as is all of my immediate family but we are still taking precautions because of the potential long term side effects. I would prefer we all both not die and not have a lifelong debilitating health issue because one out of one thousand Americans dead isn’t a big enough deal for some.

At what point would it become an issue for you?

Considering the vast majority of deaths are occurring in CA and NY, how do you figure? And how conservative are those in EU and elsewhere in the world where you can’t blame it on Trump?

But I forget, it’s ALL TRUMPS FAULT, right? If only he could snap his fingers and magically force everyone to stay in their basements without being a fascist dictator by burning the constitution and everyone’s civil liberties. Who needs an economy when we can just print 10 trillion dollars and EVERYONE can stay home and not work. Who needs food, commerce or small business. We have Democrats to take care of us!!! Because look at how much lower the death rates are in blue states and even other countries!!! Oooops. They’re not.

Maybe we should follow the leads of all those prominent Democrat leaders who were so responsible and didn’t get caught traveling, partying or going maskless in salons? Maybe we should listen to the SCIENCE that for some reason ignoring social distancing and masks keeps you safe as long as you’re rioting and protesting for social justice!!! But if you pray or attend a Trump rally ONLY then is the virus deadly. Listen to the “science”.

Yes, CA is at the top, but NY is not. Arizona and Tennessee are number two and three. So, your RW news talking points don't work when held up to scrutiny.

The virus was going to kill no matter what anyone did or who was in control. The way the MSM and Democrats used all this is still despicable.
