No, they are following the constitution, which is the essence of democracy.

 

If you read the 14th amendment, section three, you will find that it's up to a 2/3rd majority vote by congress to decide if an elected official is guilty of insurrection. This is why the SC will rightfully rule against both CO. and ME. This is not a state's right decision to make.
