The top and bottom pics are obvious: the make-up is just making the skin look younger. The lady in the middle is different though, she looks fine without it. If she was smiling no doubt she'd look more attractive than in the make-up enhanced pic.

In my opinion chicks have taken make-up way too far. Make-up is the female equivalent of cologne. With one spray onto your wrist cologne can be quite pleasant, but most people spray like 3 sprays directly onto the neck and chest. It's pungent and unattractive. The same goes for makeup. Keep it subtle - no eye line, lengthened eyelashes, eye shadow, etc. As with everything the key is moderation.

Yeh, and men, what's all this going to the gym, eating right and all this artificial "hygiene" you go through. (*)(*)(*)(*) that, lay around in your own filth, weigh 400lbs, drink lots of beer, scratch when and where you like and belch, don't forget the belching. Women like the "natural" man.

If Photoshop makes a woman's image look better, hooray for Photoshop. And if makeup actually makes a woman look better, why does anyone object? That's why you turn down the lights before you take a girl to bed. WTF, why does someone always have to bring reality into my fantasy? :wall:

I appreciate a woman who wears make-up. To me it is really an art form and if it makes her look better and thereby feel better about herself then what's the beef?

Heck, lots of guys have fake tans, do the 'comb-over' when they are partially bald, wear cologne, put stuff in their hair, wear expensive clothes when they don't have a pot to pi$$ in etc. in order to enhance their appearance.

Looks-wise, I think we all basically live in glass-houses.

P.S. Those before and after PIX are notorious for taking the 'before' one in the worst possible lighting with the worst possible facial expression and the 'after' in the best possible lighting and either benign or positive facial expression.

I don't wear a whole lot of makeup myself because, first off it's terrible for your skin and if you wear it all the time it really tears up your pores and leaves hard to remove dark lines from around your eyes. I do like to wear it occasionally though for a night out or special occasion (most recently my best friend's wedding). I'll usually wear some eye makeup and avoid foundation like the plague because it always causes my face to break out.

Because I don't wear foundation anymore (last time was freshman year in high school), I get a ton of compliments on my complexion and the healthyness of my skin. I immediately tell them, never wear foundation ever again and you can also have nice skin. And they just laugh and say, "Oh I don't know about that..." Some people just can't let go of some habits I suppose, or they just don't believe me.

Another thing that will lead to a better complexion, stop taking intensely hot showers! I don't know how people can stand a shower that scalds them, I've never liked it and will keep it on the cooler side. Scalding hot showers strip away the outer layer of your skin and leave it dry and scaly. Yuck...

Hooray for you. You remind me of my oldest grand daughter. While in high school and now in college, she has never worried about 'putting on the dog' when going to school. She goes like she is, jeans, tees, no fancy clothes, no makeup. She says take me like I am or get lost.

Haha pretty much. I'm not saying don't groom yourself though, I still like to get my brows waxed and do my hair nice but I dunno, I stopped seeing the point of going through the vicious cycle of, oh look a pimple *puts on foundation*, oh great more pimples *puts on more foundation*.

I like to refer to this as "war paint."

Women can be hyper-competitive about this stuff...and guys when a gal gets all dolled up with make-up, hair, heels and dressed to the nines..most times they do it to impress other women...not us. They already know we rarely notice the details, but other women do.

Don't get me wrong, JT likes the manicures and pedicures ( especially when her Mom treats her and her new sister ( her brother's wife ) and she definitely knows how to dress when she wants to, but it isn't something that just has a great attraction to her. Her brother, before he met his wife, usually went out with some high maintenance little girls, but was looking for a female Austin. He found her, thanks to JT and their Mom.

Women might like that kind of "natural" man, but it's not healthy to live like that. I have no problem with people who do, though. I just think humans in general are hard wired to improve themselves as well as gain other's approval, for better or worse.

We might disagree on some things but we are just alike on this one.

I agree. She looks more attractive and natural without make-up. All excess is bad.

A man is as old as he feels, and a woman as old as she looks. So, hooray for gym, make-up and photoshop.

God...no wonder young girls grow up hating their bodies when they can literally never achieve this kind of Photoshopped perfection. How sad.

Really? Her pasty complexion and unkempt hair make me suspect that a smile would reveal a meth grill. At least that's how the picture makes her look.

Well, beauty requires sacrifice. But sometimes it looks like a sort of brain disorder. I mean the scourge of 21st century - anorexia

Makeup looks fake and ugly, in my opinion. Who agrees with me?
