Man dies from coronavirus after calling it a ‘political ploy’

We all know someone that doesn't believe the virus is either real or deadly. This guy thought the virus was a joke. He attacked the lockdown and thought he knew better than everyone else. He's dead now. He leaves behind a wife and two sons. If you know someone like him send them this link. Maybe, just maybe, you will save lives. What a sad story that could have been avoided;

"An Ohio man who dismissed the coronavirus pandemic as a “political ploy” and ripped his state’s lockdown as “bulls–t,” has died of COVID-19, according to reports.

John W. McDaniel, 60, passed away last Wednesday in Columbus — exactly a month after reportedly firing off a series of angry messages about the contagion.

“Does anybody have the guts to say this COVID-19 is a political ploy? Asking for a friend. Prove me wrong,” he wrote on March 13, according to the Sun.

Two days later, McDaniel reportedly called “bulls–t” on Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s stay-at-home order closing bars and restaurants."

Yeah... this thing isn't a joke, especially for certain people.

I wish this individual would've taken better precautions, just like I hope you all are.

Recent studies involving antibody testing suggest that cv19 is far less lethal than assumed, but ridiculously contagious, which still results in mass casualties.

Have patience folks. Stay home as much as you can stand, and as much as necessary. Wear a mask. Wash your hands obsessively. Practice good hygiene around the house.

We'll get the upperhand on this thing eventually. The economy will come back too, stop worrying about it. For now, just focus on your health and those you come into contact with. We're going to beat covid just like we've beat everything else nature has thrown at us.

 

Agreed, this is annoying as hell and the pain is likely going to be for years(with the second wave an economic wave), but it's better to abide by stay-at-home-orders and live then die a fool's death. There'll be plenty of time, after the virus is gone to be assured that abuses of civil liberties can be rectified and power restored to the people. But now's not that time.

Are you just bringing this up for irony? Or are you arguing we should just say, "**** them, they're old/have diabetes/heart problems/etc I want the bars open"? Because a lot of people ARE saying that, and a lot of them also have Trump 2020 flags at their rallies

 

There are plenty of young, otherwise healthy, and now dead medical personnel.

The idea that this only kills the compromised is a myth. It is just more likely to kill you if you are compromised.

And about half the population has some kind of health issue. Hell, even little kids have obesity problems now.

 

Yet no less a pundit than Bill O'Reilly has said, "It only kills those on their last legs" (The shocking heartlessness of this statement was matched only by its misinformation, making it something of a classic even among conservative misnomers)

 

I must have missed the part of the article that stated his political bent.

Hmmmmm, family by his side when he died? Wasn’t he infected? Was he hospitalized?

McDaniel’s obituary confirmed that he died “with his loving family by his side from complications from Covid-19.” He was the first COVID-19 fatality in Marion County, the Marion Star said.

 

They're hanging us too. Every person who has the disease is endangering everyone they come around, like food workers et al. It is possible that it won't kill all of them but how many is acceptable?

 

People in the heartland are just now beginning to realize that you can't bullshit the virus

 

On the other hand there are plenty of people -- mostly leftists -- who exclaim the equivalent of "We are all going to die and we need to keep the economy shut down!" Yet almost everyone gets nothing more than a little sniffle for a little while and then gets better. It's like shutting down the nation because of car accident deaths when most people merely get a temporary nose bleed after their crash impact bag deploys.

I have a friend who has it and isn't "sick enough" to go to the hospital. She doesn't count in that 20% that are "serious cases"

She has pneumonia and has been coughing up blood for a week.

I have NEVER coughed up blood from any illness..and I've had many over the years

Anyone coughing up blood is heading to the ER. It is bullcrap to think otherwise. To tell anyone otherwise is more bullcrap.

 

"Everybody has got a friend," is something that most people can say. Most people just get a case of the sniffles, is also true. Just because your friend had a rough time of it does not mean that the majority of people do as well.

The fellow talking about how this is nothing, whom then died? That is an exmple of IRONY. It is not a reason to shut down a nation and then keep it shut down as said nation inexorbably slides into a massive economic depression. But panickers are going to panic and absolutely INSIST upon taking the economy down with them. IRONICALLY they will be the first ones to complain afterwards when due to their insistance upon across the board panic . . . there are no jobs and no way for them to pay their bills. Irony . . . great stuff!

article cites nothing about his health and it's proven that overweight people, smokers, people with diabetes etc are more at risk; just like with flu and pneumonia. The article serves to push an agenda. In fact, look at the headline about a person who died. Look at the posts within ths thread as leftists who claim to care, urinate on the grave of the guy.

If the man had any pre-conditions and/or was overweight at his age, he'd be a fool to not get a flu shot or hug someone with the flu.

OK, are you going to be posting sad stories of people dead or addicted due to the economic fallout of an overreaction? I mean complete lockdowns of just about all businesses. Maybe find one who said the lockdowns won't harm anyone.
