I'm not a DC guy. Make mine marvel.
I never heard of this one. Will google it. Have they said this to be true?

I was wishfully hoping that they would go the cloning route. It a weird twist of things going wrong we would get a bizarro superman. I might be the only one but I would love to see that. Lol

DC insiders say they want to use a villain never used before, and Parasite is the best known of ones never seen outside the comics.

By they wau. Bizarro is not a clone. He is literally a mirror image of Superman (a funhouse mirror at least), and he comes from Bizarro world, a world where everything is backwards. So, he tries to save the day by beating up cops, a nd stuff like that.

I did not think superman sucked but it was not that good either. Avatar and Avengers are my most recent favorites. I liked the Iron man movies except the third one.

Actually, I think in one of the many reboots of the DC Universe, Bizarro is a clone of Superman.

The clone thing could go many ways. again, in the current reboots, Superboy is a clone.

I've seen lots of good movies lately. The last was "This is the End" which was a hoot. "Lars and the real Girl" was funny, but you need a sense of humor, and Avatar was incredible. LOTR was downright Epic. There are lots of Marvel movies out that are fun.

But serious thought provoking movies? You have a point. But in down times people want to be entertained and uplifted. So maybe that's why. Or maybe the average intelligence level has gotten so low that serious thought provoking movies would no longer be understood.....

    (And DC movies suck :))

I will never understand the dislike this movie has gotten and I'm convinced people who didn't like Man of Steel solely because it wasn't the same as the '78 film are just plain stupid.

CGI ruined a lot of movies. They no longer need a real plot--just a way to throw a cohesive series of computer-generated effects up on the screen. I don't even go to the theater anymore. I think TV has enough good drama/comedy that theaters are becoming obsolete other than being a place for kids to hang out.

It's a shame that Man of Steel wasn't any good. The trailer looked pretty amazing and I'm not a big fan of superman.

Have to admit lots of new movies just aren't any good. The last decent film I saw in the cinema was Dredd 3d which was surprisingly good.
I also saw Looper which I regretted.

If you haven't actually seen Man of Steel, don't listen to other people. I absolutely loved the movie and I'm not one that's really into Superman or comic books in general.

Oh ok. Does it have as much action as the trailers imply or is it just endless amounts of emotional character building?

And it being Zack Snyder film, I do expect some canned awesomeness.

It's about half and half. The first hour of the movie is character building for the most part, but there's still some action parts in there too. After that the action is, for the most part, non-stop.

I have to say though, that this was better than even The Avengers, which up until I saw Man of Steel, was the best comic book movie I'd seen yet.

Ahh awesome. I'll check it out as soon as I can.

You know I actually watched total recall (2012) last night. It was way better than I thought it was going to be.
Although I thought Farrel and Beckinsale were a bit flat. But despite it's bad ratings I think it's worth a look.

As far as action goes, there's a LOT more than in the last Superman film, and it's so worth it, though sometimes it can be a bit much. There's good character development throughout the film too, being a reboot/origin film and all.

It's funny... I watched Billy Jack recently again. Wow, what a low budget, B- movie. Stories of standing up for what is right no matter the consequences have always appealed to me.

I would hate to see this one remade, Hollywood liberal PC would absolutely destroy it. I suppose they would make the modern Billy Jack a protector of the environment or perhaps "gay rights". But yeah, definitely some silly hippie (*)(*)(*)(*).

CGI is OK if used properly, but obviously many movies are going overboard and relying too heavily on them, too often sacrificing other elements.

We now have crap on more or less the same level as the stuff made fun of on Mystery Science Theater 3000 being released with fancy visual effects and the usual Hollywood hype. The crap is choking out the good stuff.. Low-budget is replacing the kind of quality we used to see from big-budget.

There have long been craptacular films, yes, but never before the modern day have they managed to be so awful yet so hyped up and basically presented as top-grade material by the studios. The longer this keeps up, the less people are going to trust in them and bother with what they're spewing out for our consumption.
