It's well known that most people who die due to COVID actually have death being caused by something else which normally would not kill the patient but do because of the overall weakening COVID causes. There are several other diseases that generally operate like this or at least so I've always heard. Best example I know of is pneumonia and the elderly. Pneumonia is serious disease but it doesn't generally kill you unless you're elderly, or have COVID
